Hi guys, great videos! How did the experience in Crete compare to the one in Portugal? Thanks
@TraveLike Жыл бұрын
Difficult question, especially that we loved both destinations! But let’s try: Crete: - Delicious food (in our opinion Greek food is much better than Portuguese) - We loved the beaches and cristal blue water (water was much clearer than in Algarve) - Better quality and more affordable hotels Portugal (Algarve) - Beautiful beaches but the water in the ocean was very cold (even though it should be the warmest in September - when we were there) - Beaches are really well-maintained (big parkings, good access, stairs or even elevators). Opposite to Crete when you often had to climb down the rocky cliffs, looking for the parking spot for 30 minutes or so, or even if you managed to park, you still had to walk e.g. 2km to the Beach) - Cute little towns, beautiful architecture Sorry for our late answer! We’ve just noticed this comment ♥️

Thank you for making this video, I am really interested in visiting Crete in the future, however, my husband and I are not able to have driving licence, are there any transportation on the island instead of diving by ourselves?

We know that GetYourGuide is organizing some trips e.g. To Balos Lagoon or Elafonisi Beach from Chania so that could be an option for you! But honestly it’s hard to get around without a car in Crete, especially that the Island is quite big - we could definitely recommend Santorini, which is a smaller Island and public transportation there works really well. You can get to all main cities/beaches/attractions by bus, they’re all well connected with each other

would u say that visiting Crete without a car is a bad idea? we really would like to go to all of these spots (balos, elafonisi...) but i have not a single idea over how transportation works there without a car.

We would say the car is a must in Crete! The Island is quite big, so it’s basically impossible to get around without a car 😥 I know GetYourGuide is organizing some trips from Chania e.g. to Balos Lagoon or Elefonisi Beach so maybe that could be an alternative 😉 Without a car we could definitely recommend Santorini, which is a smaller Island and public transportation there works really well. You can get to all main cities/beaches/attractions by bus, they’re all well connected with each other, but in case of Create unfortunately it's not like this

Great vlog! Great advice and recommendations! Did you guys hire a car to get around near Chania?
@TraveLike3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, we did and it’s a must in Crete! The Island is quite big, so it’s basically impossible to get around without a car 😥 We rented ours in Best Cars Rental and we can recommend it 😉 I know GetYourGuide is organizing some trips from Chania e.g. to Balos Lagoon or Elefonisi Beach so maybe that could be an alternative 😉

what a wonderful video :) thank you for uploading. when was this filmed ? are there any restrictions taking place that we need to know about?
@TraveLike3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The video is from summer 2020 - back then there were actually no restrictions. Currently, as far as we know things are coming back to normal, e.g. restaurants are already open, but unfortunately there is still a requirement to wear masks indoors and outdoors in all public places.
