On the Time Bandit, crew member Kyle was slammed to the deck by a massive wave and got his leg caught in the casting line. Narrowingly avoiding being pulled under the sea by the massive pot on the other side of the line, he is taken inside where they discover his leg may be broken.

His fellow deckhand, without even thinking of himself, jumped to his friend's side and employed a maneuver called "the deck anchor", wrapping his own legs around his co-worker's waist, ensuring he weighed twice as much and securing him to the deck. It literally saved him from being pulled over. These men can be salty and arrogant and pig-headed from the sheer stress of this job... But not unlike firemen or police officers, when that moment comes, they become a heroic brotherhood. Bravo, and God bless these men.

He didn't wrap his legs around him at all. That's the other guys legs flailing around. What gets me is the one hand just standing there doing nothing.

@@rachelelabbady3399 He did wrap his legs, one went under and the other her threw over his hips. The whole thing happened over less than like 10 seconds, the guy you see standing is the camera guy. He'd probably only end up getting in the way if he had tried to help.

He's damn lucky his leg doesn't get tangled with the lines. Or else he will went on a one way journey to the abyss. Good and swift team mate saved his life. He owes his co-deckhand.

I knew a guy that worked on a fishing boat in Norway that got his foot ripped off by a rope getting tangled around his ankle. When he fell he looked over and saw his foot, still in the boot laying by his shoulder while he was holding his leg.

dude that drowned was hopped up on adrenaline, and was more concerned with the pain in his leg afterward. the crew had to watch it happen and act fast to prevent him from going over. i get it, seeing your friend almost die would traumatize me too
