One thing to note, it that this bike reads 10% faster than it actually is going and if you down with the sprocket it's even further out. I have the exhaust, efi and sprocket mods and when I'm going an indicated 114km/h I'm actually only going 100km/h according to my GPS. You need a speedo correction unit like SpeedDRD, not sure if he is using one. But I know I'm a 215lb dude, and I've never broken 130km/h even on the flat on this bike, which read something like 146km/h on the speedo.

It was 92 mph on my 1983 XL250r of course that's not GPS.. All these test nowadays should be done GPS validation. .

Stock gearing at a flat road mine goes to 130-137 on the GPS. For a 250 dual sport its pretty descent.

my crf250l does about 80mph and that's strechting it. I have FMF exsaust, ejk fuel tuner, K @ N air filter and use mid grade gas and high kwality oil

Is this a standard CRF250l or it's modified? a friend of mine did 135km/h top speed with no mods and no gusty head winds. but this is really fast for a stock crf250l

The CRF speedo is inaccurate. 156 km/h indicated is about 135 km/h real, which is still an improvement on stock.

Much speed is not the ideal concern of dirt bike,although its and "L" in its class or street legal,.150plus km in the hiway for dirt bike is not bad.Every motorbike that was born has its own environment whose waiting to play and conquer.

i have had 107mph out of my crf250l, with standard sprockets, but full yoshimura exhaust and a k&n air filter and a one inch hole cut in the air box..

Quick question, if I'm doing 55 to 60 down the highway is the engine at like "max RPM" or is it at a lower RPM but just not powerful enough to go any faster? I'm thinking I might want one but I don't want to ride around at max RPM everyday to and from work.

Jonathan Angel I'm pretty sure in this vid he was at Max RPM when he hit 95mph, so you should easily be able to do 60mph and not be close to the redline (max rpm)

Too bad this is KPH and not MPH. Pretty respctable 156KPH/97MPH. Two questions tho 1) Have you changed your sprokets? 2) If so have you installed any device to compensate for the read error caused by the different sized sprokets?

There would be no read error. The odometer cable is attached to the front wheel.

hum i dont own one but i was almost positive this was a digital speedo sensor on the transmission. I know they sell a way to adjust the speedo from healtech just like the speedohealer for the wr250r

Pusang_ Lampong it really depends on what you are using them for. Crf is lighter, smaller and probably slightly better off-road... The xr is a big 650 using 20 year old technology... It's heavy, it's tall and it really doesn't go much faster than the crf... It has an insane amount of torque tho and I suppose it's a better choice if you plan to ride on the highway and travel...
