opened up the airbox gains 1,5hp in the middle rpm but you lose top end power.... you can see it in the video its the new 2017 crf250rally on a Dyno with the euro4 setup whats new on the 2017: 38mm instead of 36mm Throttlebody and exhaust is a bit different inside. I love the mod and have no doubt that less air restriction is better. But I think the increased volume could be greater than 60%. The area of a 1 1/8" circle is .994 square inches. The area of a 2" circle is 3.14 square inches. If you double the diameter you quadruple the area. If you consider this opening alone, the airflow could easily be 3 times greater.

Think of it like breathing through your nose or mouth. Your throat Is the same size but when running full out you get more from air your mouth. Same principle here, when you open the bike up it will get more air. Less re-stricted air flow. My thinking anyway!

does the airbox mod really do anything except for sound? the throttle body is smaller than the stock snorkel anyway?

That is questionable. The stock snorkel/throttle body are pretty close when you calculate the area. Anyone who does an exhaust always opens up the intake.. so there must be some science behind it.

CRFAdventures.com only because some company in the us sold "full stage one kid" for the crf250l which had those little hole plugs with sponge u drill like 1' hole for them and its meant to do soething, i dont think it really does anything. taking off the backfire screen would let more air in obciously but bigger snorkel is very questionable for me, thats why ill be staying with stock snorkenl untill someone proves it (probably wont happen) lol :)

+rani k IT would give it more of a meaner throatier sound.. however i dont think it will add much for performance on its own... possibly a slight benefit

you never want to add more air without at the LEAST adding more fuel, hence the EJK. More air+more fuel+letting out more air (exhaust) = more power.

Is the EJK necessary, or is it just nice to have...?? I just dont wanna spend the money if its not required.....I already have the air box done, the fmf muffler, and my powerbomb on and it seems to be running fine.....what will the EJK do for me ?

you are probably running pretty lean (too much air) and risk damaging the engine . the ejk will allow you to add more fuel to get the correct air/fuel ratio. you will notice more power than the airbox /exhaust mod after installing the ejk
