Alan Dobie stars in this highly acclaimed classic series written by award winning crime writer Peter Lovesey. Known for his wry sense of humour, Cribb is the backbone of Scotland Yard´s newly formed Criminal Investigation Department aided and sometimes hindered, by the faithful Constable Thackeray.
“Murder Old Boy”
Inspector Jowett is invited by florid ex-school fellow Russell Haygarth to attend a reunion weekend, where Jowett quickly tires of his old class-mates' japes. Discovering that Haygarth is a convicted swindler Cribb and Thackeray travel to warn Jowett and find that Haygarth is hoping to relieve the company of their money for a supposed donation to the school. That night he is found hanged - it is murder made to look like suicide. One of the party confesses that Haygarth seduced his wife and, given that none of the eminent men are what they seem, there is no shortage of suspects.

Loved Carson as Mr. Knightley in the 1972 Emma, and in the Miss Tita episode of Affairs of the Heart, based on James' The Aspern Papers. This was a humorous entry in Cribb, and Carson played it for laughs, but not over the top. Great stuff.

Great stuff indeed...i hope to be releasing some more of these classics later on this year..wonderful memories in an age where acting was more important than special effects...I am keeping in mind the suggestions made to me perhaps I can release them...if guide lines allow.........anyway....memories....ahhh....bliss...happy days!!!
