Brrrrrrr, some beautiful frosty filming Shanita well done ! That shot of the frost on the grass was stunning! Some hot soup would of been of benefit 😅 I have lived all my life in Lancashire and never heard of Cribden hill! So nice to see it, its views were amazing. Glad you didnt slip it did look quite hazardous at times. Thank-you for sharing your walk, really enjoyed watching!

Thanks Anna for watching. I had never heard of Cribbed Moor/Hill before either, but it seemed it was near The Halo Panopticon which I had seen a long time ago and wanted to see again. Its at the back of Winsfield Outdoor Store. It was so never racking coming down that slippery surface which is why we took our time. Nice to watch again from the warmth of home. Really pleased you enjoyed watching too Anna.🙂

Must admit cosier to see winter from a warm place, but agree very invigorating to be in it if trails accessible. Glad you enjoyed our winter walk Stewart. Thanks for comments.

You certainly had a beautiful day of sunshine for your walk. It did look very icy though, especially that section along the track where you descended from the Halo. I've seen photos of the Halo, so I'd like to go there too someday. Always thought it looked like a flying saucer 😄 Nice to hear of Michael being a teacher once. As always, you've created some lovely music for this, enjoyed the variety of instruments 👍

So nice to read your comments Patrick. It was indeed an icy biting cold day, but glad made the effort to get out as views worth it. Although I've seen the Halo Panopticon before, the Cribden route was new to me. So it was nice to follow new terrain. Music 'Reminiscing' was another much earlier track probably about 6 years ago . It even got radio air time on Salford All FM radio station. My production of music began about 2012 hence the large collection of back music. Thanks again. Look forward to seeing you next production.🙂👍🎼🎵🎶

It certainly was an icy walk Steven, and yes it is great to have a knowledgeable guide at one's side ! I certainly wouldn't know as much. History was Michael's subject in his academic studies. It's interesting how many people don't know about the Panopticons in East Lancashire. Thanks for support. Much appreciated.

Hi Shanita & Michael, just thought you might like this channel I found, it is a chap with his two dogs walking videos. He only does a few videos occasionally but the videography is outstanding, I've just watched walk #4 Goyt Valley, Pym Chair to Errwood, so cleverly done. It is:- Wildside Walks

Thanks Steve for tips on another videography channel. Always helpful to swatch different methods of filming. Will check out.

You are right Steve. Just had a quick peek at wildside Walks. Very professionally filmed edited narrated and produced. A Tripod used for shots makes such a difference. It's best when alone on a walk though like Patrick. My problem is the time in setting up for various angles then dismantling tripod before Michael (leading walks) has moved on. I have however subscribed. Thanks for tips.

Yes, I noticed in one shot he was carrying a very large tripod, I couldn't carry that for 2 minutes. I like how he composes his shots. Watched his intro video today and has been a professional photographer for over 30 years.

That was a beautiful hike, Shanita. I would have definitely gone over a couple of times on that ice. I've only ever seen a video of The Singing Ringing Tree. I hadn't realised there were other Panopticons. I can see me having to tick these off on a few hikes. This one looks like a satellite dish. I really enjoyed this video Shanita. Thanks for sharing and for the information, too. Michael really is a font of knowledge. Did you say Michael was a Teacher?
@CountrysideWalking
@CountrysideWalking 9 ай бұрын
Yes. Michael was a teacher once. No doubts his fountain of knowledge stems from those days. The weather was sunny but so cold and treacherous under foot hence the slow pace. So pleased you enjoyed watching Chris. Thanks for support.

A great walk in nice crisp conditions. I've never been over Cribden (the Oldham Tinkers mention Cribden Side in of their songs) or seen the Halo, it looks good all lit up. I've been to the Atom and the Singing Ringing Tree, which I really like when the wind blows. Best wishes to you both, Chris

Thanks Chris. It's nice to walk in areas which are different or new to me. I really enjoy finding things which are different to film or introduce in our walks. We still haven't seen the fourth Panopticon though. So who knows maybe that will happen sometime. I believe Cribden Hill is part of Cribden Moors too. All the best to you and family. (Hope we get that walk in sometime too.) Shanita

This is really nice Shanita and Michael. I think it's the twists and turns that seem to make some walks an adventure to me .... Rather than seeing long straight paths on the same level with no ups and downs or turns ... I really enjoyed this and will watch it a fair bit during these cold spells with a coffee ... There's such nice sunshine and frost to see as well. Your music is really good as well. I know one guy that has used the same music on each video throughout his videos for 150 of them !!! and he has a large following. I like some of your past music creations as well. really nice stuff. Maybe you could still use those older tunes. I'm not surprised your mouth got frozen at one point Shanita. I would find it hard to talk in that icy air as well. It was nice to hear again Michael's knowledge coming into good use .... When I made landscape videos I didn't really know where to point the camera so tended to film lots of things. You have edited this really well I think and been quite precise. .... David

What lovely praise and comments David. So pleased enjoyed. It does get harder keeping up with filming and new music, so my growing music library does mean I can reuse older tracks as well as new ones, (which happened here with Reminiscent from way back.) Afraid I do the same David. I tend to film lots of things but try to keep my films the same duration, so can't get too carried away filming. It's literally point and shoot and hope for the best! Michael never poses or waits to start talking, so its a question of being ready to capture when he starts talking with my camera they. Relieved when I can put a sort of logical film together in the end. Many thanks David.

An area we know well, not far from us. We are always visiting somewhere in Rossendale. I see you started at Winfields, good place for walking and outdoor equipment, they had the best sign I've seen, it said, "Now is the winter of our discount tents", nice bit of Shakespeare, haha. Great winter pictures.

My goodness you are well up on Shakespeare Steve 🙂I wondered if you lived nearby. We often shop at Winsfield so hope good publicity for them ! I think the highlight for me was seeing the 'The Halo' Panopticon again and of course walking somewhere different. It's a lovely part of the countryside too.
