Hi Chris. That's informative about knowing how well trod paths are by it's depth. I've never considered that before, but it does make sense. As you say it was a most enjoyable circular walk with no trials or demands except to walk it. Glad enjoyed Chris. All the best.

It was good to see your take on the Reservoirs Circuit Shanita. It's a walk I like a lot, though the track by the reservoirs is a bit of a slog. Unfortunately, the twite are virtually extinct in the South Pennines now, though I did see two near the White House earlier in the year.

I thought you might pick up on the flock of twite birds. It sounds as if they habitat around that area, but not sure on that one. It was a bit of a slog around all four reservoirs. Normally I find longer walks very tiring but quite pleased no effects at the end of this one. All the best Chris and many thanks.

Lovely walk, Stoodly Pike with it's monument, near Todmorden is a famous UFO "hotspot". There are some interesting stories, such as the PC Alan Godfrey alleged encounter with a craft, "not of this World" in late November, 1980.

It's nice to see some parts of the Pennine Way.. I think Michael was right about the wooden slats on the floor at 04:52 .. It was all boggy there years ago . People used to walk a long way around the bog but the wooden things helped for a shorter route. Nice to hear Michael's comments. You did well to film that 8 mile walk with a camcorder .. well done .

It didn't feel like an 8 mile walk at the time because terrain so flat and simple to follow. I didn't know about those wooden slats once being a track though. This time I was using my preferred sony digital camera. It has less problems than my other cameras/camcorder. Hope keeping well David and thanks.

Just came across your lovely calm channel today, watched quite a few, everything is beautiful about them, you two, your personalities, your interactions, knowledge, scenery, ability to walk so much and find so many stunning places ..loved the mention of the Hollingworth Lake comparison, and laughed at your ability to find the burnt table situation funny, because if you can’t laugh, you’d moan and moaning isn’t good for the soul/ health 🌈✝️🕊️😇😘🥰😍 they certainly left their mark and a talking and filming point with that table anyway 🤣 I look forward to what you get up to next x x x P.S we too hate the shooting huts at Widdop, there’s loads further up, dug into the ground, and we found a dead frog in one that couldn’t get out 😞 so they’re not only killing grouse but frogs! To find them, you walk up by the side of the shed, the left of it as it faces the path, and they are along the route, some set back a bit x x x love Julie x x x

That was a good walk, I followed it on the map. So handy that you live in the same area, I can look at places not far away without moving a muscle. I have also been walking along the Holme Valley but nearer to Huddersfield. Another nice bouncy rhythmic piece Shanita.

I find it rewarding that folk are checking up routes on maps to see the locality. I thought you lived nearer to Bury or Rivington than Holme Valley. Michael was very evasive about the milage you were about to cover. That was quite a hike, Shanita, especially that big climb towards the end. Was that someone's water bottle hanging off the sign at the start? Michael is definitely a font of knowledge. We never did anything like that in our Primary School. (I started Infant School in 1966). That was so interesting. It did make me laugh when that latch came away in your hand. It definitely wasn't attached. I always get confused with those latches and don't know which way I'm supposed to lift them. I love the matching jackets. They do look warm. You seemed to have had it really muddy in places too. I'd love to have the pennies to buy one of those old run down thick stone buildings and bring it back to life. I'm finding the longer hikes tiring too. The problem is that I live 1 1/2 - 2 hours away by car - depending on what end of the Peaks I'm hiking in - (I live in Stafford) so I feel I need to get the miles in to justify the expense. I've had a few stiles that have been missing a bottom step too, they are a big step up otherwise. Another great hike with beautiful views and I loved your music too. Thank you for sharing Shanita and I hope you and Michael are enjoying your weekend.

@@CountrysideWalking yes, the item was hanging off the sign at the very start, just before Michael talks about the hike. It is quite flat or undulating around where I live. The D-Day Challenge Hikes I did were the only local ones. I specifically wanted to hike them but sadly they did not perform well on this platform. People seem to love the Peaks and the Lakes more, whereas I like to watch hikes by people I like. You and Michael for instance. You could hike anywhere in the country and I know it will be really interesting video. So I follow the person, rather than the places, if that makes sense? But I'm normally a few days late watching as I like to watch a video twice and absorb the hike, look at the map, so I can follow in my mind where you are and the terrain.
