Agree with the list based on this year's performances. Would love to see more players from different test playing nations. The fact no one from SA, bangladesh, WIbor Pak dint even get mentioned and no one from SL made it to the eleven makes me little sad. Hope 2024 list has more diversity as more impactful matches are played as a part of the test championship 😊😊

I honestly feel Cummins deserves a spot over Hazelwood. The Boxing Day test performance and his overall captaincy put him over the line for me. Idk why Harsha didn’t wait for the final tests of the year to be over before picking the teams.

Both jaddu and ashwin found a place in playing XI along with 3 premium fast bowlers, but india could'nt find a place for both of them.. @@DarshilKathiara brook performed in a very tight ashes match, so he can perform in big matches and Travis head is not performing against pakistan, he is too inconsistent while brook is too consistent with strike rate better than everyone including head, and boxing day test is fine and all he can't be in team of the year because he performed in last month, and he didn't meet expectations in test series against India and WTC final and ashes, just because he won a world cup with a nice final performance doesn't mean he will be a certainty in tests.

@@Hrishiqx I just check again and stat wise starc and hazlrwoods performances are similar. But I'm not sure about the impact of the wickets they took. And starc was the highest wicket taker in Ashes this year. That would give the edge to starc over hazlrwood for me.

Why kohli ? He scored 186 on a flat pitch and another hundred on Wi so no impactful innings from their side. As you said for rohit 1 hundred in wi not a big nation but that 1 hundred on the most difficult pitch of this year everyone struggled to score in double digit rohit scored brilliant century obviously this year in tests rohit > kohli. Even you can pick Smith over both two's ik his bgt was worst but century on biggest stage Wtc final, century on Ashes, in last two matches of ashes scored crucial runs and even in recent match scored most crucial fifty. So in terms of impact the order should be Smith >> Rohit > Kohli
