Their cricketing culture & ecosystem is quite different! Market is much smaller there, plus captains & selectors can take extremely harsh decisions. There is no celebrity madness as cricket is not #1 sport there, but in football it might not be the case. Plus they are developed countries, so many other industries are well-established. Also no great family or social pressure on only becoming engineer or doctor. Even plumber & waiter are good jobs there!

They didn't retire at their prime or peak; in fact some cricketers like Kumble, McGrath or Akram were very consistent and don't have a well-defined career peak or fall. India ki promblem hai population every year you will have many good youngsters who can replace people in current team. Now those in current squad hardly get enough opportunities. Even yuvi told that selectors move player in and out so much that you hardly give them chance to settle and play for nation longer. This puts a lot of pressure on the player to either perform or lose the seat in national squad...soon or later people in india will understand bcci only works for money making and not for making the game entertaining for people.

For that matter almost many Ind cricketers were expelled out to retirement. Sehwag, Yuvraj, VVS Laxman, Irfan Pathan, Gambhir, Raina, L. Balaji, Praveen Kumar, Munaf, Ajay Jadeja even after proven clean, V. Kambli. Unworthy players kept are D. Mongia, DK who were almost always low. BCCI didn't focus to nurture Irfan and Yousuf Pathans in better way although Irfan is more highlight. Yousuf has been poor at bowling, else way too exceptional at batting on legendary teams. Kedhar Jadhav acted like mini thala and didn't show interest like he did in his early times. MSD if I speak negative on him, most of them won't agree. Even Robin Uthappa is not always in good batting shape, neither he developed as better spin bowler like a Michael Hussey or Mark Waugh level while wicket keeper slot is already filled by MSD. Parthiv Patel, Aakash Chopra intake into team is a waste decision. Even M. Kaif wasn't moulded later properly after he started hitting with power innings like 95* Vs RSA after making few 100s, he is also a tension pack player as observed in 2003WC, evident Vs Pak and Aus.
