Not back to the top yet but it’s a victory that shows the ICC that it’s time they offer these countries help to keep the rest game going so franchise won’t take away all of their players. These type of victories nothing will ever feel better you won’t ever see such in a t20 or a 50 over game unless it’s a World Cup win such test wins always feel more special

It's the best test match I've seen in a while. Not only because Windies won, but also because after a long time I saw a bunch of young cricketers from the great cricketing nation wanting to win it for their people. Shamar’s performance was out of this world but this was an absolute team effort. Da Silva totally resisting the urge to hook in the first innings despite being peppered with short balls and sharing in the highest partnership ever against Australia in 11 day night tests with Kaveem Hodge. McKenzie and Athanaze’s battling runs in the 2nd innings. This would be the same squad I’d send to England with the addition of Jayden Searles, provided he recovers from injury

What a man, Shamara, injured, inexperienced, young, even then avg pace above 140, 7 wickets, 4 clean bold, Its emotional and speechless as well. That is what has been missing from West Indies cricket hunger and heart. We saw that from this team in this second match. May that hunger and heart continue to flame each time they put on that uniform. To be injured to the point that continuing to play was no guarantee to 7 wickets n team victory. Well done, men. The West Indies play cricket in a natural way with inherent flair. Pure joy to witness the pristine way of playing actually triumphing. The West Indian style is marked by flamboyance, athleticism, fair play, and love for the game totally devoid of the commercial spoils. Never a dull moment when the Caribbeans are at it - playing cricket. The greatest feats achieved with no contrived effort. The legendary three Ws - Sir Everton Weekes, Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Cylde Walcott, Sir Conard Hunte, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Clive Llyod, Sir Issac Vivian Alexander Richards, Rohan Kanhai, Gordon Greenidge, Roy Fredricks, Brian Lara ...... wielded the willow, Lance Gibbs tweaked the cherry, and Sir Wesley Hall, Sir Charles Griffith, Roy Gilchrist, Sir Andy Roberts, Micheal Holding (Whispering Death), Joel Garner (Big Bird), Colin Croft, Malcom Marshall, Ian Bishop, Sir Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, ........hurled the cherry - like only they alone can. The Almighty has endowed the West Indies to entertain, enthrall, and inject enjoyment to people all over the planet. All we have to do is watch them at the various cricket venues. - Dr. A Narayanan Arvindan

Firstly, I’m Scottish and since my grandfather took me to see England v West Indies at old Trafford, I was hooked and have been ever since. I was watching at 4am Sunday and I won’t lie, I was emotional when the WI won. Test cricket will always be the pinnacle of the game and to see this group of young talented, WI cricketers achieve what they haven’t done since 1997 was incredible. Cricket needs a strong WI and cricket needs a challenge to the status quo. To see the great Brian Lara reduced to tears was incredible, Carl Hooper too! That’s what it means. One swallow does Not a summer make and I pray this is the first step on a journey back to the top. So much cricketing talent in the Caribbean and one hopes an administration that can follow suit following years of ineptitude, arrogance and ego. Test cricket and the WI needed this. Amazing and emotional to watch.

As a WI cricket fan going back to the 70s, 80s, 90s up to today. It is fantastic to see the passion & the will to win returned with a very inexperience team. Take a bow Shamar Joseph for the way you rattled the Australuans with his bad toe & will to win it for his team at their own fortress. W.I. cricket team & cricket lovers has been in the doldroms for a long long time & seen many false dawns. Therefore ! Lets cherish the moment for this exceptional win and hope that West Indies will get the support from the body of world cricket. That could make us competive and not loose our best up & coming tallent to franchise cricket around the world. Steve Smith did a fatastic job for his team, but once he had given the strike to Hazelwood, the door was open for a W.I. win with the ball in the hand of MOTM Shamar Joseph. Forward & Upwards West Indies as we dream of a consistient competive team.
