Imran, Ranatunga and Ganguly. Three captains who changed the way their countries played cricket. Brought real pride and removed centuries old inferiority complex.

All the umpire did (what other umpires were stating in private but too bloody scared to act on) was to call no balls due to his action. Which by the way was why the ICC changed the rule to allow him to continue. It isn’t the first time an Australian umpire has called someone for an illegal bowling action. Colin Egar from South Australia called him in a test match against South Africa no balled him for an illegal action in 1963. When Richie Benaud was informed he pulled Meckiff out of the balling attack, no carrying on like a pork chop like Ranatunga, Benaud accepted the call. If it Murali had a legal action, why did the change the rules. Captains behaving badly. The funny part about this is, the ICC had heard 12 months before that the majority of umpires privately had concerns about his actions, yet the ICC and Sri Lankan cricket did absolutely nothing to address this situation. Stop blaming the umpire for carrying out the rule correctly! Blame those who sat on their hands and did nothing.

When Murli, Saqlain & Ajmal made the ball talk it was chucking when the English players learned it it's called art/dusra now. Same with Imran, Wasim, Waqar, Akhtar bowling reverse swing was ball tempering now it's art when English players learned it too. Murali did and does a huge service in Sri Lanka more than you think. Being a Sinhalese myself, we used to hate Tamils because of anti-Sinhalese terrorists like prabakaran and racist politicians as a kid. But Murali, was one of the few Tamils who proved us that wasn't a war between Sinhalese and Tamils but a war between humanity and inhumanity. While politicians from Jaffna rallying Tamils up to destroy Sinhalese people, "Murali", He stood up with all the people without considering Sinhala or Tamils representing their side.
