I also had a problem when I imported an image. It was locked and I couldn't do anything with it. Just got off the phone with Cricut and all you have to do is click on the "View" button above the hamburger & click "Force Reload." That allowed me to manipulate the image just as you demonstrated. I'm so pleased to be able to use all these images when I make my cards. Thanks so much for this and all your other wonderful videos!

I make so many cards in DS - I saw an Anna Griffin card that I loved but the die was $60.00 - I went into DS in search of images as this had a popout on the inside - all very scrolly and fancy that her cards are known for - I sliced and welded and I did it - it was stunning, (my opinion) - now when I see a card I like, I head into DS to see what I can come up with

TY. I rewatched this video and now I understand better how to leverage the other options in DS. I'm new to Cricut this year, so lots to learn still. Moving away from the square cards, I made 4 (A2) cards using the 2x2 mat, but used my own cardstock, made my own inserts. The only difference is I had to use my trimmer to cut the cards first. I like setting up 4 cards to make at once, but using my stash to make them. Thanks so much for your precise videos. Next challenge I have is to learn to add 4 different card designs to DS, then cut with the mat. I think I saw how to do that somewhere?

New comment to request help: I was trying to simply cut an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of cardstock in half & score to give me two 4.25 x 5.5 card bases using my Cricut maker. I used a shape equal to my actual paper size & added a score line which I changed to a cut line & added another score line for my card folds. However material size options are larger as it understandably wants to cut out my page. If I make it a guide instead, will it cut & score in the right places? Or if I make my shape a draw but don’t put in an actual pen, will it cut & score my mat as if my material size is larger than 8.5 x 11 or keep these on the paper itself? Thanks in advance!
@AngieHolden Жыл бұрын
You can't cut or score all the way to the edges with a Cricut machine.
@ellen-marie6692 Жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden That’s disappointing but thank you for replying, Angie 🙂. I had tried to adjust my paper size very minimally but it had to be too much before it would display 8.5 x 11 material size as an option, so I’d assumed my cut & score wouldn’t be quite where I wanted them - this makes sense with what you’ve shared. Good! Some feedback re the card kits and mat. I bought a kit and the mat, but after watching a couple of how-to videos, I spent an awful lot of time trying to find a card design to fit the kit size. I selected Cards. Searched Chrismas square card. There were only one or two with that criteria and I couldn't use either one. So I chose all themes. Again, very, very few square card designs. I thought, why is Cricut selling card kits without giving multiple design options that fit their cards? Your method makes only one card at a time, but I could have made 4 cards in the time it took me to find anything that fit the kit card. And it wasn't even the theme I wanted.

The problem I have with the cutaway cards is that I do not want to place the center portions of the letter "B" or "R" into the text. I want to glue my backing paper with the card so that the cut letters simply need to be weeded and the centers of the letters will already be glued to the backer card. The problem I have is that the glue tends to leave a waviness to the paper. Not sure how to solve this but if anyone has any ideas, I would like to hear about it.
