Cricut Cut Settings for Glitter Cardstock Rhinestone Templates

Marilyn, GOD BLESS YOU! Finally got my first templet made. No flock in sight, found some glitter cardstock and thanks to you and your video and the settings we are cutting....Yay! I was hesitant and fought it but I could not give up! So thankful to be able to have so many recourses that make learning new things possible.

Thank you for sharing your card stock hack. I had a few scraps leftover. I was so tickled it worked. I used Glitter Neutral Cardstock Paper by Recollections from Michaels

If you want to actually make your own designs, you would want to get a rhinestone software. Silhouette Business Edition has a rhinestone feature, as does Sure Cuts a Lot. I prefer Silhouette, as it has more rhinestone features that I like. I design in Silhouette, save the file as an SVG, and then import it into Cricut.

Marilyn this is so helpful thank you. I was wondering have you ever tried Smart Vinyl Cardstock. I haven't and I just got a Critcut Maker 3 my husband got me for Christmas and a sheet of Smart Cardstock Vinyl came with it. I was thinking about trying. Thank you!

Hey Marilyn! Hope all is well. I knew I could find one of your older videos that would give me that info I needed. Thank you so much. Your tutorials were always time efficient, direct, easy to understand and follow. i didn't realize I've been watching you this long and not putting it into action. Life had been lifing! But God! Im determined to get moving now. Do you know if your maker was doing a double cut? Have you used the explorer air 2? My default setting is double cut but I'm not sure it needs it. Thanks again!

Thank you so much!!! What a sweet comment. As far as Cricut machines go, I have only used a Cricut Maker and I set it to Glitter Cardstock. I do not think it was double cutting, but I'l not 100% certain.

No, it doesn't shed. That's probably a better way to describe it than how I described it toward the end of the video. The link to this card and the other one I talked about are in the video description. They both work well on my Cricut. Thanks so much for watching!!!

Can you use a Cricut to make the design? I have a Maker and Explore. I’m new to this, just gathering my supplies.

You can use a Cricut to cut the template out. You can do it in design space but it is much more difficult and takes a lot of time. The designs come out better in software that has a rhinestone design feature, like Silhouette Business Edition. I design in Silhouette, but do not own a Silhouette cutting machine, so I cut it on my Cricut. I'm sorry, I do not, but if you try it, use a few little circles around .130 inches in diameter to test your various settings.

What settings do you use for the flock?

For actual flock, I use 340 pressure on a Cricut Maker. But machines/blades vary, so I would start with some test cuts of small circles. When I use glitter cardstock in my Cricut Maker, I use the Glitter Cardstock setting.
