The year 2016, the great being of fire Edwad Emberpants has lost most of his power and with his dying breaths, gave ants this new form in order to take over humanity to restore his power however their ants and just did ant things.

Edwad wants you to think that he's dead, in reality he's still alive fighting to avenge his brothers, Vaati and Bed. Edwad's true form is actually Criken, you see, Edwad is Criken's ancestor and when Edwad grew old and wise he gave all of his power over to Criken, Edwad is alive but he isn't the Red Bean he used to be. Dark Souls 3 was like an Animus if you will, Criken relived Edwad's life to understand where his power as a youtuber came from, that's why Edwad was so confused when Vaati kept saying that they were recording. Mind=Blown.

The Acid Shot makes me imagine a kid who has real bad luck in water gun fights so that they just fill it with acidic liquids to get an edge on the competition, but find out it's more potent than they would have hoped. Kinda like what Criken did here, except maybe with more remorse.

To explain shortly: The level is "Cleared" when either every nest is destroyed, or every enemy is dead. The missions are super simplistic, and open-level. It's really sandbox horde alien fighter. There is no direction, only dickery.
