I've done this on the Switch. But I'm sure it would cost a ton given the 4 player version's tendency to be a coin muncher (especially with the International/US romsets whose difficulty is ramped up several notches than the Japanese version which is more lenient).

The music in this game was perfect, much better than in the Vendetta sequel
@figment19884 жыл бұрын
One of Crime Fighters' composers was Mutsuhiko Izumi who also did the music for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which explains why the stage 4 and 8 theme known as Hunger City sounds similar to the Technodrome in TMNT 1989). Vendetta's music was composed by Michiru Yamane who would later work on the Castlevania series. And in addition to Mutsuhiko, this game had compositions by Kenichi Matsubara who worked on Contra Force.

Konami needs to remake this game! With better sprite art, but keep the music the same.

Next time Konami comes out with a collection of old arcade games, this should be included.
@figment19884 жыл бұрын
Hopefully, it might become a reality. In an interview seen in the eBook for Konami Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, some programmers said that if there is a volume 2, Crime Fighters should be part of the lineup. Alternatively, if that doesn't work, one can hope that Hamster Corporation can get it as part of the Arcade Archives just like they did with Sunset Riders in June of 2020. Update: Crime Fighters was released as part of the Arcade Archives on March 18, 2021. Months later in July, Vendetta, the 1991 sequel to Crime Fighters, was added to the Arcade Archives. 2023 update: in retrospect, I put much thought into this comment and at the time, I was aware that SNK, Sega, and Taito did make Mini arcade cabinets featuring a handful of their games. And now that I've have seen their potential and success given that i have all of those cabinets. It would be interesting to see Konami release a mini version of their Windy candy cabinet, and it would be interesting to see Crime Fighters as one of the games.

@thecowboy2 Red dude always took an asskicking in the arcade, as you were the unfortunate guy who had to play at an angle on the right side... it sucked as your controller wasn't oriented for you. My friends and I used to fight over who had to play at that controller...

And the sketchy hit detection didn't help at all. But you gotta cut Konami some slack. After all, it was their first Double Dragon style brawler for the arcade.
