I grew up in a village where there was one house boarded up, totally abandoned and had been for years. The story was a guy lived there alone and took his own life one day on the front porch. The house was then boarded up and just completely forgotten. Being a group of teens we always wanted to get in there and explore, and one night we did. It was an eery experience to say the least, it felt like a time warp. Everything was exactly the same as the day the poor man had died all those years ago. There’s something so intriguing about abandoned houses. Awesome vid 👍🏼

When I was in high school there was an abandoned dairy farm complete with barns and 2 houses about a half hour from where we lived. A few of my friends and I went exploring one afternoon and it was incredibly creepy. Literally looks like the people just up and vanished one day decades before without taking ANY of their belongings with them. There was even an old hospital bed with an IV pole that still had a glass bottle of IV fluids and the tubing hanging from it. Creepy!!
@Mandaxx25
@Mandaxx25 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like whoever needed that IV ended up dead and they were buried and had no one to clear it out.
@jacd751
@jacd751 Жыл бұрын
@@Mandaxx25 That would make sense but there was clearly an entire family living there including at least 2 teens/young adults & 3 small children according to what we found in the 5 bedrooms in the main house, from the pictures on the wall & in albums, clothing, homework, schoolbooks, food, etc PLUS adult farmhands that lived in the smaller house. It looked as if it was an elderly/dying grandparent or severely disabled/dying child(10?+ years old given it was a regular sized hospital bed and not a smaller sized bed or crib) being cared for....Even if it was a single person that died with no one to deal with the property, that person was obviously bed bound - given the hospital bed in the living room, IV fluids/nutrition. A bed bound or deathly ill person wouldn't be able to set that all up by themselves or administer the meds/fluids/nutrition on their own. Back then you couldn't just pay someone or a service to do that...when it came down to it back then it was family, which this farm clearly had a good sized family living there, or it was their friends, church & the community. I actually drove back out there about a week after posting my original comment because I was curious & going that direction anyway... only "footprints"/rubble - the collapsed houses, barns, etc - and a VERY overgrown property remained. I figured that CERTAINLY by now it would all be a completely different place/farm as it's been over 20 freaking years since I was there with my friends! It's not...which has me even more intrigued & confused. 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

That's because cats are everywhere, and like to get into places like this and explore. Dogs, not so much - at least not alone. Also, cats who are close to death will seek out isolated and abandoned places to pass in as well. Most of the dead cats we see in these kind of videos are feral cats, living "wild" often as not.

What was weird about the place, there were 6 plates on the table with utensils by them and nothing on the plates. That would mean that possibly six people hurriedly left the house for some reason and never returned? The poor cat might have been left to fend for itself and might have died from lack of water since it could have been locked in the house. That would be a terrible way for it to die.

Thank you Adam, that was amazing, stepping back in time. Such a once beautiful home, it was still occupied by spirit. It would be awesome if you could find out the history of what happened for everything to just be abandoned that way. It's not normal unless a crime so heinous occurs, nobody dares to go back into claim or take care of such a lovely home. I'm left without answers, maybe you could go back and do some researching on some of these places. It would benefit your explorations. Thank you again, very intriguing.

My first time watching your videos. I'm quite impressed with how you showed such respect for all the items you encountered. You explored but didn't disturb anything. That's how it should be. I agree that while in great disrepair, at least the damage was done by nature rather than by vandalism. Quite an eclectic assortment of items: magazines from the '30"s, photos from the Victorian period, a toaster from the '70's, et.c. Thank you so much for thorough videography. R.I.P. Mittens.
