Beg to differ. Jokes don't land because the premise seems wrong. Ted Bundy and the Boston bombers were arguably as attractive as Luigi, yet never got the kind of support by the wider public. The piece sidesteps the real reason for this support, which is insurance denials that murder 60,000 Americans per year due to grifting CEOs with no medical expertise. Good comedy provides insight, and old SNLs did that and weren't afraid to court controversy. Strawman comedy smells funny but isn't really funny.

sarah’s accent work is so good here. i don’t know enough about comedy to know about actual techniques and shit but the way she emphasizes the accent more as the skit goes on and she reels you in feels so much more effective than if she just kept the accent consistently super over the top and unintelligible from the very start. like she needed to pronounce criminals fairly normally in the beginning for the later “cerminals” and “healthcrare in this crunchy” to really hit has hard as they did. she seems to really know how to work a crowd and she always looks like she’s having so much fun
