@@tompickett5637 yea I know, I have it. It is a great series. I'm not surprised it only has 1 season though, it feels like that particular story was the full thing. The actress who plays Mags (Margo Martindale) was only in 10 episodes, but she won an emmy for her portrayal! I think the first time I saw her was in "Lonesome Dove" back in the 80's. Since then, she's done literally dozens of films and TV episodes including some iconic supporting characters.

One of the more understated things of this series, was Raylan's temper. Got it from his pops and it was referenced here when Mags pointed out the limp that Dickie had thanks to Raylan. (They spell this out in detail later in this season when Raylan tells exactly how this went down.) In spite of the bad blood between their families, Raylan wasn't trying to see them wiped out by Dixie Mafia. I absolutely loved this second season and the modern spin on the Hatfield v. McCoy deal we got with the Bennetts v. Givens.

Dixie Mafia out of Frankfort. I don't believe that. Frankfort is tiny little city.
@kellhound722725 күн бұрын
What is the minimum city size for a mafia I wonder? I mean, the smaller the town the easier it is to control things, or see if someone who shouldn't be there is around. I mean the Cornbread Mafia was in and around a small town called Lebanon Kentucky, there is even a book about it, and Lebanon Kentucky is certainly smaller than Frankfort.

@@kellhound7227 I am not an expert on organized crime. It just seemed far fetched to me to imagine a big organized crime presence in a small state capital which would have a larger than normal pollice and political presence. In Lebanon it would be easier to have political and police corruption and fly under the radar. But again I am no expert..
@kellhound722720 күн бұрын
@@johnbennett757 Wherever politicians reside there is corruption, as far as violence from the criminal organizations I think it depends on who the people are at the head of the organization and the moral compass of those "in power". Example being Pablo Escobar and his phrase "Silver or Lead" (can't be bothered to look up the Spanish words) and the meaning was clear, you could take his money to look the other way or you could take his lead and be dead. Most criminal organizations I believe prefer to go unnoticed for anything that could cause a major uproar, so that their bought politicians/judges/law enforcement don't have to be "seen to be doing something" against the organization. I think big or small if you look into it you'll find someone is paying someone to look the other way.

Dicky: "I THOUGHT that this was a good deal...." WHY does it seem to me, that "thinking" was never really Dicky's strong suit? I mean, it isn't as though he's as dumb as his brother Coover, but. He just seems exceptionally "impulse driven"... just as much as Coover is. I'm sure that Dickey and Dewey Crow could have a mental foot-race to see who comes up with the worst bad idea... If Dickey's brains were dynamite, he wouldn't have enough to blow his nose.
