The dialogue in this scene is next level. Higher up the Mountain, worse the footing gets. Plane crashes, first class always hits the hardest. I learned one thing a long time ago... Doesn't pay to be the lead dog. You know the best way to survive a plane crash? How's that? Don't be in it. Justified should have won a couple of Emmys, several for Olyphant and several for Goggins. But the writing deserved its own slew of awards.

Nicky really underestimated the lengths Raylan would go for Winona. He would never let anyone harm her and it didn't matter if it cost him his life, career, or freedom. This isn't Boyd and Ava. Boyd was quick to look out for himself the minute he felt like Ava was breaking things off with him in Season 5. His "love" of Ava was temperamental. Raylan and Winona had such a fascinating relationship and I never doubted how much they truly loved each other.
@shannonmcstormy5021Ай бұрын
Ummm......So, the biggest mistake Raylan made was walking away from Ava. Ava is ten times the woman, and profoundly smarter, than Winona. Ava would have never taken the money out of evidence, she's not that dumb. Raylan could have easily spent his remaining decades in federal prison for "fixing" that stunt. (And then she leaves him near the end of the series because she's "protecting the baby?!) That one act should have been enough to secure the loyalty of any partner. You can also look at the quality of man each hooked up with. Yes, the character arc at the end painted Boyd in a pretty bad light, but you can't argue that he's not ten times the man Winona was with when the series started. (Raylan gets him out of this impossible jam, and then he returns to Duffy to do more deals a year later?!) Winona and him deserved each other, they were cut from the same cloth. Obviously, its just a series and I appreciate the dialogue. But, I found the relationship between Ava and Boyd compelling and was disappointed they turned direction at the last moment to tarnish what was an amazing love story. Whereas Raylan and Winona seemed just about Raylan losing a hot woman to Mr. scumbag and not liking the taste that left in Raylan's mouth. He doesn't like to lose. .

@LenGott83453 ай бұрын
This was two sides of a coin. Lawman at the start, Arlo's son on the other side and that's the side that Nicky foolishly underestimated to his own peril. He was fine with turning him in but deep down, threatening Winona meant there was a pine box with his name on it. He was fine with tagging his toe, but his signature for the most obvious of reasons couldn't be on it. Enter Sammy. Sammy takes care of an immediate threat and Raylan is clean. Sort of. Damn prints were on the door handle so they would've known he was the last man in the thing before Nicky was executed. (This is what lead to things finally fracturing between Art and Raylan. Really this was what caused a rift between Raylan and the others that would ultimately boil over when Ava took off with the money and shot Boyd, while Raylan DIDN'T SHOOT. (The one time, right? 😂😂)
