I love that Raylan shows them a little bit of his back and side too. Emphasizing that he need not even be squared up with them to know he can handle anyone(s) dumb enough to pull on him.

Exactly. They got real lucky their baby brother was smart. Season 5 would have been over then and there

Tell y'all what - there is wisdom in this show. When a 12 year old boy's the only member of your gang who knows to shut up and lawyer up when cops happen? Consider that a sign that organized crime is not for you.

Raylan versus Darryl was a lot tighter than I figured it would be. Didn't realize until this season how brutally savage his kin were. The shit in Mexico was insane. His brother dying trying to test out the 21 Foot Rule in the most ironic of circumstances was well, funny.

Michael Rapaport's truly horrible southern accent is as insulting to southerners as Dick Van Dykes' British accent from Mary Poppins.

As if there's some sort of collective accent, lifelong Floridian here, heard plenty of dumb rednecks sound just like him

I couldn’t put my finger on the accent until now. It’s like he learned that accent while copying woody harrelson. It’s actually a spot on harrelson accent, but definitely not a southern accent

Dick Van Dyke’s was a terrible ‘English’ accent, specifically a terrible Cockney one. But, you’re correct inasmuch as it was terrible,

I love Justified whose season guest stars were by and large excellent, but Rapaport and that accent were just cringe. 🤣

Honestly on rewatches I find the biggest stars to be the weakest characters. Rappaport wasn't great but his character was an interesting wildcard. But Steenburgen and Sam Elliot were kinda bland. Luckily they had really entertaining henchmen with Choo Choo, Duffy and Boon.
@Primus5410 күн бұрын
@ I agree about Elliot and Steenburgen by and large. I did like Elliot’s scene at the dining room table with Ava and Boyd and with Loretta and Raylan, also at a dining room table. The actor playing Boon was excellent… had those crazy eyes and creepy demeanor.
@jimgolab5369 күн бұрын
@ I read that Steenburgen had asked whether she was going to get to shoot someone in this role. I THINK that they then made sure that this happened.

My least favorite season from an excellent series. Much of it was the horrible southern accent - especially the actor playing Darryl. Also, in a series known for strong and smart villains, the Crowes were just annoying thugs. Still worth watching - just not as strong as what came before and what comes after.
