Raylan versus Darryl was a lot tighter than I figured it would be. Didn't realize until this season how brutally savage his kin were. The shit in Mexico was insane. His brother dying trying to test out the 21 Foot Rule in the most ironic of circumstances was well, funny.

@@jimgolab536 the 21 Foot Rule--the principle that an average person can sprint 21 feet in roughly 1.5 seconds. Incidentally, that's about the same time it takes an officer to draw a firearm and fire two unaimed shots. Sound about right?
@jimgolab53628 күн бұрын
@ No. The rule is described in the video “Surviving Edged Weapons”. The idea is that knives are fast and guns are slow. A policeman with a holstered gun 5 feet from a man armed with a knife is a dead man. At around 10-15 feet (I forget), they are both dead, because the cop has time to shoot the perp but he is still going to get stabbed. Only if the perp starts beyond about 21 feet is the cop likely to survive and kill the perp. So, the bad guy in Justified CHOSE to start at a distance that guaranteed he would fail and die. Even without the hole.

My least favorite season from an excellent series. Much of it was the horrible southern accent - especially the actor playing Darryl. Also, in a series known for strong and smart villains, the Crowes were just annoying thugs. Still worth watching - just not as strong as what came before and what comes after.

Honestly on rewatches I find the biggest stars to be the weakest characters. Rappaport wasn't great but his character was an interesting wildcard. But Steenburgen and Sam Elliot were kinda bland. Luckily they had really entertaining henchmen with Choo Choo, Duffy and Boon.
