The funny thing is he's not wrong about marijuana being a gateway drug. I don't think I know a single marijuana smoker (and I know lots as I used to work in the event scene in clubs and bars) who hasn't also at least tried plenty of other drugs. 'Oh, I found out that coke wasn't for me' is a common one. Like holy shit, you did coke in the first place? Plenty of them were on meth pre Covid. Not sure what happened since because the event scene was decimated, but yeah, I used to also think marijuana was this harmless fun thing, but it turns out that people that are willing to smoke pot are usually willing to try a hell of a lot more.

True
@chriscarlson5163 ай бұрын
Sure, but you could say the same thing about alcohol. It seems inevitable that weed will be legalized nationwide, at which point it would stop being a "gateway" drug to other illegal drugs because it's not illegal.
@chriscoalman10753 ай бұрын
Lived half my life in the scene even selling it. Its is a gateway drug yes but out of a complettely different reason. Its illegal still in most countries as it was in mine at the time. So to get it you had to step into the illegal world. And guess what in that world? All other illegal drugs. Just look at prohibation time in the US. Didnt took long for the syndicates to take controll of it. In an uncontrolled enviroment plus the inherent curiousity or life problems human face going deeper in the drug rabbit hole when the chance arrises isnt too far fetched and I would even say logical to some degree.
@KeinInhalt3 ай бұрын
Scientifically disproved bullshit.
@vyonixv19693 ай бұрын
Thats your personal stuff. Doesn't mean its true at all. I know ppl that smoked a shit ton and never turned to other drugs. And I knew ppl that never smoked but did coke and other shit. There are alot of ppl that just try and do all kind of drugs in young ages just to test it out and be like "Nah, fuck it." In the end, every drug, whatever it is, can be dangerous. Its about social background ,mental stuff and everything else. Surely, some drugs can easily become a problem and are highly addicvtive. Just look at the USA problems with meth, opiods etc. Still I do not think, it is a gateway to it. Weed is easy to get, can be a party fun and thats it. Same could be said for alcohol. Or rather should. If you're grounded, have a path and ppl that look out for you, you probably don't slip into to hard stuff. Atleast thats from the EU perspective. But if you have problems in your life etc, its easy to run into an addiction. May it be alc, weed and then later on other stuff. But just saying weed is the gateway to everything else is a bit meh and just to easy. And in the end its not "really" true. Its a topic for discussion for years. Alot of people that got lost in drugs smoked at some point. Alot of people that never did, did aswell. Alot of people that never smoked, ended up in drugs. Same goes for beer. Alot of poeple that drank beer became alcoholics. But not every1 that drank beer at some point ended up there. Hope you get my point and hope you're doing good. Cheers my dude.
