The tariff on Duffy was later changed to a whole life tariff, so he will die in prison. Mulcahy was also given a 30 year mimimum, though neither will ever be released. Remember that the 30 years is the minimum period served before they can be considered by a parole board. Mulcahy will never pass a parole board.

Anne Lock's body wasn't found because the police made a mistake marking out the border between the Metropolitan police area and Hertfordshire police. Anne Lock's body was in the gap where they'd made the mistake and her body wasn't found for months when vital forensic evidence had degraded. The police also later discovered that they'd had evidence with David Mulcahey's fingerprints on, but hadn't done anything with it. One of their rape victims also mentioned how it took four attempts for her speaking to the police before they actually took her rape seriously and took a witness statement.

in the alison day case all three police theories were wrong as alison never made it out of the station they caught her on the platform as soon as she got off,they than marched her along the railway track towards the canal

well far be it from me to criticise police from the 80s but Anne Lock's body wasn't discovered for 9 weeks, so that when they found her, nearly all the forensic evidence was gone and no evidence could be found to link her to the other cases,. The delay in finding her was due to a breakdown in communication between the Hertfordshire and Metropolitan police forces. Both thought each other was going to search this 200m section of the embankment and therefore it didn't get searched until railway workers raised the alarm, That's really poor leadership. In addition to this, the trial was messed up when Anne's widower Lawrence Lock was in the witness stand and his father, who was outside the courtroom, had a heart attack and died. during the incident the judge threw out her case as he said there was not enough evidence for a conviction. Due to double jeopardy laws, Duffy couldn't be tried again for Anne's murder. So she hasn't received proper justice to this day. That's not great police work

The fella who got the train stopped was the little ginger fool who worked for the Railway, the first one arrested probably why the Train driver stopped for him he knew him. It's interesting Nick called the foreign girl pretty, I don't remember him calling any other victim pretty. Still think Alison Days boyfriend was awful for not meeting her at the Station..there were multiple rapes around that area in that time.

Why not "blame" Maartje's parents for letting her go to the sweet shop on her own? Anne's boss for making her work late on a Sunday night. Of course, to do that would be stupid. But you carry on applying that logic to Alison's boyfriend all you want...

Allison's boyfriend really let himself down. Letting her go from Upminster to Hackney, freezing, dark, no car, just after Christmas with no one around. Very poor judgement but ultimately not his fault for the actions of another.

he'd just been asked to work some overtime and the only way they could be together was for Allison to travel to him , he's probably took the extra work on so he could treat Allison at a later date , a lot of people in the 80's traveled to meet each other rather than parents being your personnel taxi drivers like today , just think before you engage your mouth

Duffy is one of two prisoners who agreed to a whole life term themselves. Duffy told the judge in the second trial in 1999 that he should be given a whole tariff. Which he received.

The boyfriend is not responsible for what happened, he's more than likely lived with guilt and sadness for a very long time now and he no doubt wishes he did things differently Alison made the choice to go out there that night, she had every right to make this choice and she certainly had the right to go about her business freely without worrying about grubs like Duffy and Mulcahy.
