Top tips Alex and, and NEVER ever keep your wallet or wallet or phone in your back pocket when out, PS, We stayed in a large villa in Portugal approx 10 years ago separated into 5 separate sections we came back after a meal on the second night of 2 weeks with the doors kicked in and all they stole was the 5 safes ripped out of the wardrobes, containing most of everyone's jewelry passports driving license's as we had car hire booked and a suitcase and a suitcase probably to put the safes in, you defiantly are not and we have never stayed in a villa ever again scaremongering . all the best ...

I had a lovely Taxi driver from the airport, an amazing day at Palma beach, the Aquarium, some amazing food. 😂. Definitely didn't see any gangs. Police were driving up the promenade slowly, checking, making shure the beach goers were safe. I loved Mallorca tbh, need to get back asap.

I was in Cuitadella all day yesterday , and today, and, in fact most days , and although I'm always vigilant, I cant say that I have seen anything untoward lately. Please give me your evidence of this and descriptions of these pickpockets so that I can spot them when i go to the correos tomorrow. The police station , as you will know, is only a couple of hundreds of yards from the Placa dels pins and Placa des Born and there are regular patrols around Cuitadella and it's suburbs. I will look in the local press for any reports of pickpockets.

@@richardszymanski8337 I walked all around Cuitadella yesterday ,from Plaja Gran up to the Mercadona supermarket on the industrial estate and all the way back through the town to Placa des Born and Placa dels pins, and the port area and I can safely say that I did not see "lots of pickpockets" anywhere in the town . I walk around Cuitadella every day and although one has to be aware whenever you are, I have never come across anything scary here. It's a peaceful town where ordinary Menorcan people live ordinary Menorcan peaceful lives , a bit boring you could say. Oh , and the police station is just a couple of hundred yards from the centre , with regular patrols. It ain't the Bronx . I've lived in Port de Pollenca as well and have never felt scared there neither. But there must be a problem now apparently, and it is good that you are making us aware of it , although I suspect that the gang is not very big and woe betide them when the Guardia feel their collars, as I'm sure they will before long. I will keep my eyes peeled for any pickpocketing gangs around Cuitadella and report back if I see anything untoward , however I've not seen anything "scary" as of yet. If you could let me know where these pickpockets were operating I could be forewarned. Don't panic Mr Mainwaring. 😉 .....in Cuitadella anyway.

I am very old fashioned, my bank card doesn’t leave my sight, ever, so I always pay cash in restaurants and no handbag, just a money belt under my clothes, sometimes a cross over bag. Never been pickpocket anywhere, except once on a bus to Palma many years ago where I did take a handbag, but only 20 Euros. I was miles away from my hotel, but had to flag down a cab ( didn’t dare tell him I had no money ) took me back to my hotel, explained ( Spaniard, neither of us spoke the other’s language) he couldn’t come up with me, but waited trustingly outside. Obviously I gave him a generous tip.

Off subject but we decided to go to Aviemore instead of Majorca for our September holiday. We have talked to many bar staff, hotel staff etc and it seems to be the same problems here as in Majorca, low wages high rent but they decided to knuckle down and get on with it, instead of telling me i am not welcome and as far as i can see no crime and its been 20+ degrees everyday....♥️

Please be careful at the airport too, don’t take any jewellery off at security, my husband took his watch off and put it in the tray, it wasn’t there when we picked up the tray, we were told to go through and tell the person at the information desk and they would inform the airline and give us an incident number, the person at the information desk rang someone but couldn’t get an answer so he told us to inform our insurance company. We did that but couldn’t make a claim without an incident number so unfortunately we didn’t get a penny, so we definitely won’t be removing our jewellery again at the airport.

Hi we have an apartment in Palma Nova and come over each month. Twice in the last couple of months,when we have walked back late of an evening, my husband has been approached by being knocked into , first time laughing and joking acting drunk and wrapping his leg around my husbands to distract him ,the second time he had his hand in my husband’s pocket , luckily my husband was aware as he did have hold of his phone but never got away with it , within seconds the thug had disappeared, they are so nimble and appear from nowhere .

I never understand why anyone would keep wallets or phones in a back pocket. I live in Menorca, but it's still front pockets only for phones and money. As for the beach, either go as a group or leave phones and most money behind. I would just take enough for a drink or two and no more than I could afford to lose. I agree about using the ATMs inside a bank and when traveling abroad outside of Spain or UK, I use a Wise card. It's prepaid and gives fantastic exchange rates as is pays in the local currency. Going to a beach with stuff is always a risk, even in the UK. It is much easier to go as a group, but make it clear that whoever is left, must not leave even for a second.

My daughter husband and two children went to her mother in laws villa in Calvia last year and a gang dismantled the patio doors put some sort of gas in the air con and robbed them my granddaughter was very poorly and in my daughters room so they was on red alert but nobody woke up and they all felt like they had a hangover the next day and that is scary there was three children in a bedroom on their own and they had been in there aswell really scary be aware they are doing g this in Majorca

Another huge issue is breaking into cars...doesn't even have to be a rental car, locals are affected too. Never ever ever leave anything within sight when you park your car, not even a string bag with your wet bikini, not even for 5 minutes. They'll just break a window and be off with your belongings in the blink of an eye. Cars parked near tourist spots are a definite target . Police will do diddly squat, they'll just give you a report for your insurance. Take everything with you!

Or even at the very least make any kind of suggestion!! Thumbnail design is part of the package and it’s not easy. We all experiment with different styles. See what works and what doesn’t. I have told this story before not sure it was on this channel but me and my brother in law were in a shop not far from the square I won't name it but while in the shop buying bread I noticed a fella behind me but never thought anything of it then I heared my brother in law shout he's trying to rob you ,I had a man bag and he had opened the zip and had his hand inside and I didn't even feel it ,now for the unbelievable part I grabbed him and showed him the error of his ways his mate run and left him but the owner of the shop took his side I was in shock ,I said he is trying to rob me in your shop then he said they have nothing and you are wealthy they are just trying to feed there family's so let it go ,I said no way phone the police he refused and asked us to leave the shop so I just let him go probably to rob someone else but I had no choice really, of course my wife was not to happy about it but it it was just a fight or flight reaction and I knew afterwards it was the wrong thing to do,so just in case I reported it to the police but once I said they didn't get anything they said nothing we can do because they didn't do anything and I could have been mistaken so we knew straight away it was time to back off and learn from it and what I did was the wrong thing to do as I could have got in to trouble ,this was about 5 years ago but it still plays on my mind when iam in PP but in the 25 years we have been coming to PP this is the only thing of that nature we have ever experienced and I still think it's the safest place we have ever been to and still is,just be vigilant and don't do what I did

@@MallorcaUnderTheSun Have you seen the beautiful house at the end of Pollensa, sadly now rotting and lived in by druggies and assorted squatters? Just before the bypass roundabout as you go towards Alcudia. Has one on those third storey turrets looking over the bay. So Sad. Been empty for years. There are some terrific Eastern European people, sadly too many of the wrong sort have been let in. Maybe the locals pay the to scare off 'nuisance' tourists. 😁
