Being examined, having to give statements to law enforcement and attorneys, and even being made to testify in court can be traumatizing over and over. And that's only *if* you can admit to yourself that you were raped. A lot of us wanted to just pretend it never happened.

I was raped by my landlord when I was 22 y.o. I was drunk and felt since I made myself impaired, it was partly my fault. Never reported. I called my sister, told her what happened. She asked if I called the police. Told her “no”. She said, “well, I guess it wasn’t that bad then, was it?” The violation, feeling unsafe In your own skin, own home, and then to have a family member act as if I’m being a drama queen. 33 years later, still hurts

I am 70 years old and have experienced years of sexual abuse as a child, was raped, beaten and impregnated by a stranger at 16. At 28 I was drugged, kidnapped and gang raped. I've been stalked, spied on by voyeurs, and had misogynist treatment in the workplace. At 66 years of age I was attacked and beaten by a man that I rejected. After four years of harrowing court proceedings I was finally able to get some psychological help. Seek counseling. It will make a difference to you. I finally have peace. I know I will need to stay away from men to maintain that peace though.

I am sorry that you went through abuse. I hope that you find peace through therapy or self help books to take back your power. Something that has helped me is to imagine the adult me rescuing the child version of me from an abuser and then comforting that child version. Taking a self defense course or studying a book on that topic and then practicing those moves helped, too. The practice means you will react automatically without thinking about it. It makes me feel a bit safer out in the world. And it makes imagining how you would protect your child self more real. One book explained that instinctually everyone has a preset in how they react when threatened with violence or some other kind of serious danger. Some people react by running away, others fight and others will freeze. (Freezers have been known to just stand still when in a building on fire! Someone has to push them to move to break that instinctual reaction!) Practicing self defense we can overcome those presets, or if our preset is to fight, fight better by knowing the ‘dirty tricks’ of fighting which most women need to fight off a guy, who are typically stronger. All of which may come in handy to protect ourselves or others. It is only a small percentage of men who are violent, which I try to remind myself frequently. The trust issue problems are real but completely understandable. My guard will probably always be up but that is okay. I will never understand why child abusers don’t always get life in prison. They cause so much harm and never really change. Politicians making policies and judges giving sentences need education on that topic. Good for you testifying against your abuser! You should be proud of yourself. That was your adult self standing up for your inner child for real.

That's the thing that a lot of people don't understand when it hasn't happened to them. They assume someone filing years or decades down the road would have wanted to get justice as soon as the assault happened. But if often doesn't work like that. You blame yourself or feel ashamed and simply want to hide from it, and it can take the mustering up of an enormous amount of courage to bring something like this that you've repressed not only just back to the surface, but into the public eye. I hope for the sake of these women that they have some corroborating evidence to present in court, other than that which generally points to propensity.

@@cftvdataIkr, few months back my civics teacher (who admittedly, is kind of a passionate nutjob) discussed about the new law and the recent assault cases that came out, and the thing she kept mentioning was why these victims hadn't come forward early. She chose the more famous case at the time with Trump and started poking holes in the story, like "why didn't she come forward at the time", "why did no one hear them", etc. and like, I don't care for politics, but just hearing her seed doubt made me uncomfortable. The time in which you file a case doesn't speak on the level of credibility you have. Like you said, not everyone decides to file a suit immediately after the event. Everyone deals with it different. Some people take years, maybe even decades down the road to even *accept* what happened, let alone take the step to sue. I got groomed and groped by someone that lived under my house for years since i was only like 7, and it only stopped when i got into the 7th grade. I've since gotten away from him, but it's taken me a near decade just to accept what really happened, to face the fact that it wasn't okay or that it was "love" and to start healing. I wouldn't sue even if i could, because i'm frankly tired and afraid of stirring up trouble amongst my extended family for making such a claim especially in my culture. Some people will never sue because of the fear, or the inevitable flow of people that don't believe them and try to invalidate their experiences. And hearing some people ask why they hadn't done it sooner...it really is frustrating, because some of them are obviously trying to be fair (as in the case of my civics teacher) but their attempts at being impartial makes them ignorantly disrespectful to victims that have worked up the courage for years to speak out, even more so because these are powerful billionaires that could easily send mob hate their way. Whenever someone asks why a victim decides to only speak out now, i simply want to ask back, "why would they put their own life and career on the line if they didn't have something substantial". I'm hoping that these cases are tried equally. I always consider everyone as innocent before guilty but i also want these women to get a fair chance to speak up instead of getting shut down as a "cash grab". But so far, it really ain't looking great on Diddy's end, with the photos and the amount of suits that came out.

Yes, that is so true, the last minute means it took to that "do or die moment", waiting for it to go away, waiting for anything to make it all stop. And then each woman (or man in cases) decided they had a right to justice.

I was terrified of my violent ex and if I had known he had murders under his belt, no way in *hell* I would be the first to try for justice. I was sexually assaulted at 20 years old. I somehow found the courage to go to the ER but I had sat in the shower in a state of dissociation for hours beforehand, not thinking that it would be destroying “evidence”. I took it all the way to trial, for them to find him not guilty because I had been drinking alcohol. There’s so many reasons people don’t report. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t. Other days I am proud that I did. I’m 30 now and still dissociate when it comes to that particular time in my life, as if it didn’t happen to me. It happened to somebody else. It was all an out of body experience. I saw the reality of being blamed for what happened to me. I was asked by someone in my family “why did you let this happen to you?!” in which the police officer with me was so kind and took my phone to reprimand them for speaking to me that way. I think from that point I began crumbling to build a stronger wall.

I hope it's OK to reply, but reading your comment, I feel this needs to be said... NONE of this was your fault. None of it. I don't care what you'd been drinking, what you'd taken, what you were wearing - because none of it matters. The second you indicated "no" (physically, verbally, any way you showed your lack of consent), it was up to your attacker to stop. You were traumatised when you got in that shower. That wasn't your fault, either, because you didn't cause the trauma. What you did was follow your instincts in that moment to protect yourself (you'd be surprised how many victims wash themselves, unwittingly destroying evidence, because psychologically they are trying to wash any trace of the attacker off to regain control of the situation). The fact that the case was lost was not your fault - these cases are notoriously difficult to prove, even with DNA evidence, because it becomes "he said/she said" over consent. This, along with deep-rooted misogyny in many sectors of society, is why the prosecution rate is so low - but that's not your fault. You did everything right, in a bid to get justice and to protect others, and you SHOULD feel bloody proud of that. As a woman I want to thank you, because there is every chance that (despite the court case being unsuccessful) your actions scared the shit out of your attacker and protected other women - women like me, my sisters, my nieces, and my friends. If standing up to that b-stard made him think twice and not attack just one woman, then you achieved something incredible and saved another woman going through the horror you did. I hope you're able to get the help you need to fully process the dissociation in a healthy way. But you need to know that you are not to blame and that you are incredible for doing everything you could to protect others 💖 With love from an ER doc who sees these cases, and the horrors they cause, far too often 💕

When I told my mother this happened she treated me like I was lying. I told no one until I was 32 years old. I was prevented from confronting my father so I sent him a cassette tape federal express to his office and he acted like he never listened to it. Just more covert abuse from him. I was the scapegoat in my family also and my younger siblings wanted nothing to do with me either bc I had shaken up the homeostasis of the family. I had to go no contact to save me from further ongoing covert abuse. I haven’t heard a word from my 5 younger siblings to this day. It’s been 30 years. @@laraoneal7284 Thank you for your kind comment. I wish I could send you a huge hug! I'm so truly sorry to read of what you have been through. Sadly, some families feel like they have to have a "family punching bag" that they can unload onto physically and emotionally, in order to get through (I saw a friend go through something very similar to what you describe and, as a result, I despise her family - not a drop of empathy amongst the lot of them). That tells far more about them than it does about my friend - in the same way that your family's selfishness in wanting to retain their comfortable status quo, instead of protecting you, says far more about their flaws than it ever will about you. Whilst "no contact" can be a really hard thing to do, I think you did the right thing and I applaud you for it. Growing up with nobody on your side, I imagine that took guts and an immense amount of courage to finally say "enough". But if they were offering you no love and no support, then you were merely cutting off the hurtful and ab-sive behaviour. That was absolutely the right thing to do. Nobody has the right to continually hurt you, although it can be hard to recognise and put a stop to the only behaviour you've ever known from certain people - particularly family. Some never get there, so you really should be proud of that. Please forgive me if I've got this wrong but, reading between the lines, am I right in assuming your father was your ab-ser? If so, he 100% got that tape and he listened to it. And then he panicked. He just didn't want to admit it and give you any power, incase it emboldened you to go to the authorities. Those who harm children all have two key traits - manipulative behaviour and cowardice. You are so much better off as far from that as humanly possible. I know this will come as little consolation, but you won - never forget that. You survived, you took back control, and you wouldn't let them beat you. I imagine they've had a difficult time explaining your absence to people outside of the immediate family and I guarantee that, every time your father has been there and there has been an unexpected knock at the door, they've felt a stomach drop and wondered if today is the day. Sometimes, that's what justice looks like - making them forever look over one shoulder, never 100% relaxed. It may not be much, but it is something - and you've not had to do a thing to cause it. A guilty conscience is a funny thing and will play tricks and mind games aplenty - almost like their own mind is trolling them. Sending love, a reminder that you are not at fault - you are a survivor, and my best wishes for a happy and healthy future 💕 (Edited to fix typo)

This is part of the good side of social media. It is much much harder for these stories to be hidden, and when ONE victim is joined by others - women who are now older and more self assured, not so easily cowed - some justice may finally come.

The grilling and scrutiny of the trial can break anyone before ghey even get before a judge. These trials revitalize the victim. So many don't follow through. The first challenge is being believed and intense accusations against the victim that that are lying. They are usually called many bad names and the old " asking for it". The second challenge, worse than the first is retelling the traumatic details of the assault, usually over and over. By the time they get on thr stand, they are exhausted or numb from the retelling. Many young women give up before to gets to court.

The only ones I am skeptical of are fans over the age of 21 who are either invited back stage or wait in line at the tour bus with certain stars with a certain image, and then claim they were sexually assaulted. I'm sorry but when you see a line of women getting in and out of Diddy or Marilyn Mansons tour bus, what exactly did they think was going on inside? No possible way they were under the impression they were just doing meet and greets in private😂. Those stories I put some blame on them. They knew what situation they were placing themselves in.

My friend and I spoke for three hours last night about the assaults weve experienced. It sometimes takes months or years to fully understand and make sense of it, especially if you were drugged or inebriated. My guess is that people who mock the victims have no empathy and have never been assaulted themselves or they are guilty of doing this to others. One woman my friend knew in her small but affluent town did report her assault but no one treated her with respect and her assaulter was a popular athlete in the area so her claims were dismissed. She literally made a video about it and then ended her life. The trauma runs deep and so many r*pists have gotten away with it for years. I'm glad people have the courage to come forward. We need to show that it won't be tolerated anymore.

I'm sure if he had been famous, they would have scoffed at it even more. We've all seen what happens to women who report famous men for any sort of SA. They get torn apart in the news and now also on social media. I know it's possible some women reporting it are just looking for a payday but I'm positive they aren't all doing that. Women go through too much to make even a few million dollars worth it, which is probably more than any will get. Thanks for pointing out that it's about power, not about sex.

24:33 to 24:38 , nice jump cut. It sounds like you almost got yourself cancelled, LOL. Probably should have eliminated that 5 seconds as well. Very nice surface level video, didn't mention that the third lawsuit of the 17 year old, she was supposedly flown in on a private jet from Detroit to NY. I always enjoy the channel, but this video was a bit messy, from not knowing that the attorney on the case is the same high powered attorney that Cassie used, so he won't get "buried", and barely looking at the complaints, to the "jumping on the bandwagon" remark. The women were rightfully frightened, this guy has been accused of violence over the years, Kid Cudi got his car blown up for messing with Cassie. Wale got hung over a balcony by his ankles. He was finally weak enough after Cassie's lawsuit for the other women to have enough courage to speak out. I don't know if the allegations are true or not, but a court will decide. These accusations are only surface level of all the dirt Diddy has allegedly done over the decades, let's not even get started on Tupac and Biggie's demise.
