The focus of police training must be to respect constitutional rights. It would help avoid situations like this one. This cop didn’t think for one second about the rights of the citizenry This officer NEVER identified himself as an officer, he’s nowhere near his patrol car, he didn’t initiate a traffic stop. ANYBODY can dress up like a police officer. This kid literally didn’t do a single thing wrong.
@slimjimjimslim59232 жыл бұрын
I am not sure if any training can help. I seen on LivePD where the suspect is crying and talking to the police and the police was very calm and then the suspect just takes out a gun and start blasting. And then there are case like this here where clearly the cop was going in assuming he has to draw his weapon and shoot. I don't know man, when the job entails dealing with nervous teenagers, gangbangers, people with guns pretending to be nervous, it's all a mixed up soup. I guess human instinct just kicks in with the mantra "better safe than sorry" and that cause police to assume the worst

Constitutional rights by ass bro, this isn't a matter of rights. It's a matter of callousness, inhumanity to other humans etc. This officer was already fucked in the head before this happened, he was already in a state of mind where he found it acceptable to abuse his power, kill and try to get away with it. I think this officer needs to sit down on a chair, all limbs duck taped together and the man he shot holding a knife in his hand all in an sound proof room to get that same adrenaline, and fear he put that young boy through. When you pull a trigger, you know that one pull can take a life or put someone through severe/unimaginable pain, it doesn't take any thought to look at that, it's so obvious. A responsible man knows when to pull the trigger, a confused man does by accident or in fear, but a man who intentionally does it to harm without trying to protect themselves is a murderer and the most appalling form of human their could be, a total failure of a human, when you don't consider the lives of all people you raise your gun to, thoughtlessness is only acceptable when your in a real dangerous situation when perhaps someone is trying to kill you, thats a moment when you might just have to pull that trigger no matter what but in this instance, it's simply attempted intentional murder. If that young boy was part of my family, I'd swear on all gods, that guy would never never been heard from again, I'm a man that advocates for love in peace but they are both a two way street, there is no peace when another declares war, and if there is war I'll play that game til they realize it was never a game, I'll show them the monsters they are because that's how far I can go, I want nothing more than to watch them be frightened by their own reflection as they've forced others to feel.

They all make their own rules, and barely held to any standard nationally. There needs to be more of a discussion on how overrepresented psychopathy is in law enforcement and military. These people join the police force in the pursuit of power, control, and the potential exposure to violence is a huge plus. There was a recent study on this. So many people talk about how CEOs tend to have psychopathic traits, but those are the non-violent ones. They might be manipulative and controlling, but they won’t try to kill you. The kind of psychopath who gets into law enforcement, on the other hand, they are the type who either become cops, military personnel, or violent criminals.

Cops sure. Military….they more so join because of family, or because thats where their life was headed. Once they leave the military, then you can say them bling a police force is for the power etc

Here in Norway becoming a cop is a university bachelor degree. First you need 13 years of school, then you have to wait until you are 20, then 1 year in school, 1 year in the field with supervision and then 1 year at school again. And even after all that, you don't get to wear a gun unless there is a serious terrorist threat to the country. If it's not, the gun is locked up in their car or they need to be allowed by someone higher up.

Having been married to a cop, I promise you, this guy barely passed his psych eval and I PROMISE, this guy was on the department’s radar as being a loose canon. ALL the officers from my spouse’s training class that were loose canons all ended up doing something to be fired and some have even ended up in federal prison and everyone else in the class knew they were dangerous and SO DID THE DEPARTMENT. They need to pay these guys more and end up with a better pool of people to choose from. Someone who did this should’ve been weeded out and if they couldn’t do that, they’re not offering enough for quality individuals.

I liked when you were explaining how an officer could’ve just went to their house/furthered the investigation.. that’s their job. To investigate. Given the situation, had he let him run off, if he even would’ve, a day or two of REAL police work and I can almost guarantee he would’ve been able to find everything he needed to locate and arrest this man. Sad situation when people don’t take 5 seconds out of a minute, that’s all you need is 5 seconds to think quickly and then make a decision. In some situations, sure you’ve only got .00000001 second and there is a threat but damn even he could’ve called for back up if he is that afraid of the public. Which not saying he should be, but he should be because the public at the end of the day has the say. The citizens could rise up and remove any one that we agree on from any office and a lot of officials have created this US Vs THEM situation in a lot of states. It’s wack.
