My high school friend's dad was a cop, and very good looking. He got flirted with all the time. Once he pulled over an attractive lady who was speeding on the freeway. After she signed the ticket she told him, "come on, can't we work something out? I'll do anything to avoid this happening." He said, "Anything?" She said, "Anything." He said, "What are you doing Friday?" She grinned and said, "Oh, nothing! I'm totally free on Friday!" He tore out the ticket and handed it to her. "Good, then you'll be able to make it to court. Have a good night."

As someone who grew up with an alcoholic mom that would bounce between enraged and flirtatious, drunken flirting puts the fear of god into my core. Edit: damn I didn't know this comment got so much traction... To uh, clarify, she wouldn't flirt with *me,* her daughter... She'd flirt with the cops, people walking by if she was in public and with the people from her imagination. She wouldn't hallucinate, exactly, she was just... in her mind. She always said "I'm not perfect and I never claim to be perfect, but I'm the best I can be" and that rang true when she was sober. Despite her flaws she was a good mom, but the impression of seeing her drunk like that and smelling it in the air when all of those shenanigans would go down.... Left me unable to enjoy alcohol. Once he saw the whole family and a bunch of stuff you would keep in a home, how tired and disheveled I was, he lead me to a truck stop to stretch, shower, and nap. I wasn't combative or rude and we had a mutually positive interaction. Most cops I've encountered have been like this. But one, just one, tried to BS me into jail. He failed as even his supervisor questioned who approved giving him a gun and badge. There are bad cops, no mistaking that. But many truely do want to help, and sometimes their policies prevent them from thinking on their own, much of their traning conditions them to assert hostility.

Once I was doing night shift at a dairy factory starting at 9pm and I was leaving home about 8,30 pm on a Friday night when I got pulled over as I left my country town heading to the next to to where the factory was. The cop asked me if I had been drinking and I said nope, I'm actually on my way to work. He asked where I worked, and I told him the name of the factory (very well known at the time - late 80's). He laughed and said suuuure... who's on shift with you? I said " Well night shift there is only six of us - Wayne, Blue, Dippy Bill, Shorty, Frank and me" He looked me dead in the eye then burst out laughing. "you really do work there! Say hi to Bluey from me, his old mate Damo". (I should mention Blue had done time once or twice in the big house for GBH and theft). Folks would often claim they were heading to work "night shift" when they had already had a few with the hope they wouldn't get breathalysed. You see at the time there were only six women working at the factory plus about 150 men and 2 of them worked in the office and 2 in the butter room which was only day shift. So the chance of running into one of the only two women who did nights....! I loved working at the factory and it's funny but when ever I had to go over to the office building or when it was time to leave, one of the guys always escorted me to the car park or building without me asking. One time I got in my car and went to leave and just as I put the car in reverse, the clutch cable snapped. Blue immediately loaned me his car, he lived only a couple of streets away so he could walk it and later that day, my car was fixed and we swapped cars back over. Those guys were as rough as hessian underpants, hard to get to know but the people you would want in you corner when the chips were down.

1:58 - I had this happen to me once. I was 20 at the time. I was driving through an area I didn't know and state patrol pulled me over for illegal tint (the tint is legal where I live). He said if I gave a hug and kiss, he would let me go, and if I gave him my number, he would do a lot more. He wouldn't let me leave until I did. I always had a fear of police, and that experience made it so much worse.

My buddy and I were given a ride hope by some police after they saw us walking on the side of the road coming back from a party. When we got out, the cop on my side(passenger) told us to empty our pockets to make sure we didn't take anything. As soon as the other officer was like "we didn't have anything the the back seats for them to take" he had already stuck his hand deep into my pocket and felt EVERYTHING. I'm a dude btw, that was so violating at the time. I've learned now that there's way worse violating stuff that can happen, and I wish I hadn't lmao
