This episode is one of my favorites because of that scene between Hotch and Garcia at the end. I love that seeing the insight into her character, but also the respect that Hotch has for her!

Such a great episode. I felt bad for Tommy. I loved Garcia's sleuthing. She did a good job digging, but she's too pure for it. She's best behind her screens doing what she normally does for the team.

Now I'm not an expert on burning buildings or anything, but I wondered the same thing about running through the flames, so I had looked into it a little bit. Everything that I saw though says that if you were able to survive long enough (with the smoke inhalation etc) to try to run through, that even if you made it to the other side your clothes would have melted to your body and the burns would be too extreme.

and most people in fires die from the smoke before the actual fire reaches them, i.e way less painful

Sorry for the late reply, another fact to add to the chance of the escape is. Unfortunately if u look during the episode when tommy is look at the newspaper of the theatre fire u can faintly see the words "Both the front and back of the theatre were blocked or locked off making escape impossible" so even if they manage to get through the fire they couldnt make it outside as it was blocked.

I hate places like this town, they turn innocent child to monster and they act surprised, so annoying. another tragedy hope it ends well. good episode too.

Two more issues of running through the fire: you can't see and you can't breathe. There is still oxygen, but if you inhale, you will burn out your lungs and death is 100% certain. You also can't keep your eyes open - you'll lose them. So you have to hold your breath, while panicking, close your eyes and run through flames hoping that you won't trip or run into a wall.

The scene with Hotch and Garcia was so need as her work is always amazing but in this episode she was outside of her comfort zone and in some way you could argue her job description.

Someone else already pointed it out but jumping through the fire is not as simple a solution as you think. Most wouldn't do it instinctively because our minds know the fire will burn us, so our furst instinct is to avoid it. By the time you would override your flight or fight response to pain you would have already been subjected to mass amounts of smoke inhalation. This would have addled your mind even more. That is not even going to any of the toxic fumes that could have been released because of the fire. Old towns like this would not be up to the safety standards that we have for newer buildings now. More then likely they would have been inhaling smoke laced with things like asbestos, lead, or even arsenic. Even if they managed to get ahold of themselves enough to risk jumping through the fire, they are not guaranteed the chance to live. Especially since the unsub used a LOT of accelerant. They would have to run through a LOT of fire in order to get out and there is the possibility the unsub made sure the front exit was locked as well. That fire was probably hot enough to give them severe burns on it's own, but then if/when their clothes catched fire they would melt onto their skin. Those poor didn't stand a chance.

Sorry for the late reply, but yeah on a newspaper later on in the episode that tommy reads about the fire you were right the front exit was blocked/locked as they reported it on the newspaper. But the thing that got me confused is why at the start at the pricing above the ticket box it says that there is 3 theatres but only turns out to only but one. But i think they couldve gotten out by trying to ram open the fire exit even though they might have been weakened by the smoke, the metal bar i think that keeps the door shut doesnt seem to be welded in or anything just jammed in so if they pushed hard i think it couldve moved it.

lol I reacted exactly the same at 8:07 down to the facial expression and small head turn; it's neat to be so in sync

You know all this could have been avoided if tommy was given psychiatric help about this love map problem but no the town demonized him beat the crap out of him and removed anything to do with him like he was never born

No, it is not the first arsonist they’ve had on the show. It’s the third one I believe.

If it is to much fire then running through it might not be the best idea. You are right you are screwed😂 as soon as you start inhaling smoke you are in trouble.

I don't know Prison Break but you also know her from SUPERNATURAL, the person who gave Castiel a pb&j in the alley (when he was human). Then she took him home, they had sex, then she stabbed him with his angel blade!

12:18 Now understand that I am by no means an expert on such things. But if someone is that badly burned, shouldn't they be covered with bandages or something to protect from infection? Or was it just the idea that there was no way she could survive such grievous injuries so what was the point and just make her as comfortable as possible until she dies?
@xkindredxsoulsxxx4195
@xkindredxsoulsxxx4195 2 ай бұрын
Not sure an expert either, but yes they do cover sometimes for infection, but burns actually NEED exposure to the air to heal right so they may also choose to leave some uncovered. Also I believe I have heard that they are sometimes more likely to leave them uncovered when there isn't chance of survival because the bandages can make the pain worse.
