When the "villain" of the episode ends up being the victim... its always such a hard episode to watch.

Hotch did have a point about the case file though. Had they gone over things, a survivor would have made no sense and Foyet would have been screwed. So this time, he wanted to comb over the files closer, and it led to saving Darren. Also, controversial opinion here: offending pedophiles need to go. They've proven they have no concern for the safety of others. But those who don't offend, we desperately need to study them. Psych evals, brain scans, anything we can use to find a cause. If we can find the cause, be it nature or nurture, we could prevent so many destroyed lives.

As someone who's struggled with medication issues - having to jump through hoops just to get refills approved, being switched between doctors randomly and prescribed new meds with barely any info - this episode really pisses me off because you're absolutely right, this is such a preventable problem but people don't take mental health seriously and therefore don't consider the consequences of say, taking someone strongly dependent on that medication off of it just because their symptoms are getting better. Their symptoms are getting better because they're on the medication!

its infuriating. I have a kid with special needs and she now has private insurance instead of medicaid and it's a struggle to get anything approved. Like yo, wtf. My last psych med was denied because "patient can try others first." Even though this one works for 3 bpd, depression, and adhd. But no, let's have me take 3 different meds instead.

Homie that played the unsub did a fantastic job aging this role.... One of the better unsub acting jobs in my opinion

Another unsub I really felt for. There really are no words. While I'm glad Darrel found his truth and reunited with his, probably, only friend... The entire case was just so very sad. No child, no person, should ever have to be in either situation, and the mental toll it takes on someone is astronomical. I love your reactions! ^^

Amazing acting. From what I have seen in interviews ect. The whole CM cast and crew are incredibly close, and that's why so many great performances from guest starts are so good. Sounds like they had a great time and a amazing work place.

I can't blame Cole for these murders he committed. He would never do it if he wouldn't taken from his medication. I blame the doctor for everything. He can not make such decision on his own, there is consilium for this very reason
@justinalicea1590
@justinalicea1590 10 ай бұрын
The doctor didn't make that decision, Cole did. He wanted to know about his past, so he's the one who stopped taking the pills with his doctor's permission. No one could have known that Cole's returning memories would cause him to lose his grip on reality.

it’s common for doctors to take patients off of medications for the exact reason his doctor did as long as there’s no history of psychotic breaks or violence which they say he didn’t in this episode. it’s not the doctors fault for taking him off the meds. as for checking in on him regularly, most times there are weekly appointments and with how unstable he was it’s likely that the break from reality was very recent and the doctor didn’t know yet.

Yeah. I gotta say without knowing exactly what state he was in before this we can't really blame the doctor. He didn't know what he was supressing or how severely it would affect him. He couldn't have known. Now with the value of our hindsight we can say he never should have taken him off his meds or at least should have done so in a more controlled environment. The doctor didn't have the hindsight though. Although given he did seem to know what a bad idea it was to touch him an argument could be made that he was aware of some risk of instability. Given that he probably should have pushed for a more controlled environment.

Not really, but the nature of the show made casting less about extras and more about actual characters however small the role. As a result you noticed just about EVERYONE and many of the characters recurred. Also many of the actors on the show were strongly cast(making them more noticeable) and went on to appear in a lot of other things. Plus the fandom is strong and when you're a strong enough fan of something you notice everything and notice it even in other things. I see Buffy and Star Trek everywhere. Add that to the heavy cross over casting within procedurals and you see people everywhere.

Loved this one a lot. Was immediately intrigued when I saw 'Bobby Dagen' playing this role. He KILLED it, literally! ❤ I could not believe the audacity and the gall of this 'father'. My jaw legitimately dropped when um...not spoiling uh...he appears on camera again. The nerve... 😡

this episode was a good one, very rare I feel bad for the unsub. His dr failed him for sure. And the father!! 1000% agree with you on pedos! He got what he derserved in my opinion. Also I am enjoying the sentencing at the end of the episodes. Great reaction!!

I don't think the doctor should receive too much blame if that's the case than the many neurologist who has kept me on clanazapam a heavily controlled medicine should be locked up if the medicine he was getting was controlled than he would need to see the doctor every few months to get a refill I think what happened is since his memories went away about the traumatic event he probably went through one more test before the doc took him off the medicine the doc couldn't of known that something like this would happen and the unsub can't just take the medicine if he has no more refills so give the doctor a break I bet there's some nasty side affects too taking that controlled medicine for a long time same for me and Clonazepam

even though that guy killed people i feel bad for him. he was clearly unstable and unable to control what he was doing or understand what was actually going on. and i hate that he now also has to live with what he did. he just needed the proper meds or a safe place. i think now he needs to go to a locked place to get his head right. and hotch, he needs to not be at work. hes clearly not able to handle it in a professional way. he should stay home and work on finding foyet.
