Slipspace Games, or as I like to call them, Slipspace Gaming, asked what genres in gaming I find to be criminally neglected. Here's what I came up with!

I remember the days where I used to play Ragnarok Online. I was really bad at it but what keep me in it (aside from my real life friends) was seeing hundreds of people in the starting city. Lots of merchants, people just hanging out, talking, afks, people running around, some people I recognized, changing gear, showing animations for abilities, trying to forge armor/weapon (sometimes failing and reacting to it). It was interesting and different. Kinda like the FF14 "busy" feeling but much better.

I was tempted to try Ragnarok, but never did. Still sounds so familiar though!

@@gaming-arcadia it is an old 2d fantasty MMO. Lots of similarities with FF/DQ. First monster is basically a slime (like DQ) and has a job progression system (Novice-Swordsman-Crusader-Paladin)

Back in the day I used to subscribe to the MMO "City of heroes and played regularly for a couple of years.... There was no cookie cutter costume awards.... You made your own and you really could make it look different to everyone else's. For my money it was a brilliant game!

Yup I had City of Heroes (and Villains) characters for a bit. Lots of freedom to create unique heroes.

I know you're really big into VR from the show with Gaz. Do you play Quake 3 Arena in VR?

No I didn't even know that's a thing. I know Quake 1 and 2 have VR mods around... Quake 3 would be interesting to try, but the pace and strafe-jumping movement would probably be pretty rough?
