“How could a true Marine become forsworn? It seemed unlikely that he would suddenly turn his back on the pattern of a lifetime and pact with the Darkness. What had Chaos to offer him? Wealth? We have no use for the baubles that other men covet; we already have the finest of everything that a man could wish for. Sensual gratification? We are taught its transitory nature. Power? We know true power, which is the will of the Emperor. Who among us could equal his sacrifice?” No - as I stood over his body I came to understand. He had deviated not in one leap but in small steps, by increments”. - Bloody Moon (Dark Angel) - Cloud Runners Last Stand. It’s a cruel world.

I know I'm late to the party here, but I love and collect The Crimson Slaughter. Loved this video about them! But I've always thought they were Undivided with only their leader; Kranon the Relentless being a champion of Khorne. However I could be wrong! There isn't much lore to go off with them, and they have a similar resemblence to the World Eaters so I guess it's an assumption to make, that they are dedicated to Khorne. Even so I've been bulding and painting mine as undivided with multiple influences from each of the chaos gods. Anyway! Thanks for taking a dive into them brother! I hope to see more of them or chaos videos in the future

You know, between this and my recent reading of the early Horus Heresy novels, it's amazing how 90% of the imperium's problems seem to stem from Male Fragility and an atmosphere of Toxic Masculinity. Seriously, the Primarchs were 18 different flavors of Daddy Issues and about half of them needed a damned hug or an 'atta boy' and the whole thing could have been averted. But instead we get lack of communication amongst a band of hyper-emotional broflakes looking for reasons to get their feelings hurt. And before anyone flips, I've been in the hobby for over twenty years, and my favorite plastic space men are the Blood Angels...aka the Legion of Kyles, sipping on their goblets of Monster Ultra Red and waiting to put their fists through the metaphorical drywall of someone's face. Sanguinius had the 'self sacrificing big brother' flavor of daddy issues with a side of 'Anger Management Issues' They use art therapy to try and reign in their tempers.
@Manglet7624 жыл бұрын
Really this has nothing to do with male fragility or toxic masculinity. People go to great lengths to be accepted and praised when it's not given to them in healthy doses, happens every day. Look deep enough and you'll find examples of supposed "toxic masculinity/male fragilty" in women too, and at that point it's not even about gender exclusive flaws, it's just positive attention-depravity at work.
@themanformerlyknownascomme7774 жыл бұрын
I also have a bit of a knack for the social sciences (though my specialty is sociology I still know quite a bit about psychology) and while I am a newer fan to 40K I think I know what you are talking about. "Masculinity" is not the right word, I find "Identity" to be a far more appropriate term as the Primarks struggles were far less gender oriented, more based instead on morality and the "nurture" given to them by their "homes" and of course the dad issues you mentioned.
