I know it thanks to DoW1. Specially in the Ultimate Apocalipse mod were you can give them like a... Leman Russ cannon i think? You can turn them into a long range artillery is what im saying. Artillery that still has a flamer, Autocannons and its claws if i recall correctly.

They are cruel mockery of the venerable dread naught of the Imperial Space Marines, but where the dreadnaughts are view as a honorable fate, the Defilers are seen as fate worse than death. The Chaos Gods are vicious by nature and petty as well, but even Defilers are constantly being tortured by their Patrons Gods for their own amusement. They are dangerous and take their pain against anything in their way, but it take a lot of firepower to bring one down.

Amazing work, as always. The World Eaters have faced my Guard Regiments many a times, and I hate them fiercely (it is my youngest brother's army). These chaos engines can easily be taken down with a couple o tens of thousands guards (insert sad, ironic laugh here).

I love the idea that they are fast and agile, that they can *climb* and *jump*... makes them much much more frightening! In my headcanon, the sacrifice is not bound to the outside of the machine, but rather sealed up forever inside the turret (via that hatch on the back with the heavy chains on it)... their possessed flesh then becomes part of the machine
