I really enjoy how thorough you are when you explain plants to us. Great "show and tell" vids. Thanks for that. 😃👍🌿

I have one in my 14 gal cube . It grew to the surface then in circles with the flow of the filter I don't trim it unless I absolutely have to. Awesome plant .

I’ve had the crinum calamistratum in my 55 now for a little over three months and it is looking fantastic. It will eventually find its way into my 75G where it can really stretch out and actually arrived with a little baby sprouting from about 3/4 of the way up the bulb. I was worried about killing the baby so only buried the bulb about half way into the sand. It took a week or two to get its roots established and not get knocked around by my panther crabs. The baby is growing much slower than the mother plant at the moment, but I’m seeing new leaves on the baby every few weeks. Absolutely one of my favorite aquarium plants along with the Madagascar Lace.

Cool looking plants. When I have a little more experience, I think I'll get one. Very good explanation of how to care for these.

I have a crinum calamistratum in my low tech betta aquarium and it's HUGE now. It spans my entire 10 gallon. However, I uprooted my first crinum too much during water changes and it died. During cleaning now, I move the leaves by hand to one side so I can get in and trim the other plants below. It's a beautiful plant but those leaves are almost 'sticky' on how easy it's to catch them on tools and each other. I move them back once the water has been filled back up and it doesn't seem to mind that process.

Thanks for making this video! Quick question, I just acquired a crinum calamistratum, and it has a tiny pup already growing on the side of the bulb; when it is time to remove the pup and plant it, do you just break it off with your fingers, or should you cut it off?

Hi Justin, I am about to get some crinum calamistratum, but was wondering, are they OK in a soft water tank that gets dosed with seachem flourish excel liquid CO2? I know some plants, such as vals melt and die, are crinum likely to do that too? Also I have a 53gallon tank, what do I do to maintain the plant, can I cut the leaves or will the plant die if I did that? I hope you can help. Thanks

I have thaianum and calimastratum that I just moved from a 75 gallon to a 270 gallon/8 foot long goldfish tank. I know they hate to be moved so I’m hoping they will do ok. I put them in 4 in rock wool cubes inside 6 inch terracotta pots. My thaianum was constantly uprooted and floated in my old tank. I can’t wait until it gets huge like my cali!

Amano used the C. calamistratum in the Lisbon tank although I can't say I've spotted it on the vids of it. I have one and in its pot looks like a sea anemone or squid. In a non Co2 tank its taking time rooting in. Leaves are very dark green..but look a bit thinner then it had from the growers.
