@3volk7153 жыл бұрын
You do not want duckweed...I got it for free from a plant from the store, it eventually almost covered my entire 55g. I found out just soon enough that if it covered the entire thing it could have killed off everything from sealing off the gas exchange. It also too FOREVER to get rid of and when it dies it leaves tiny white pedals floating that if your water evaporates they will get dried to the glass above the water and its a huge pain. Plus they have tiny hair like roots that if it dies fall off, so when you put your hand in the waterit instantly makes a huge mess. That and the fact it all ends up stuck in your filter is why I will never have it again.

I'll have to look into the Vallis one, looks beautiful! (I love that huge neon tank behind you too!) I do seem to struggle keeping my Amazon Sword alive lately, I'll have to look into using root tabs over liquid fertilizer I think. I have new growth on the bottom, but the existing big leaves are just going brown so quickly....

Hi, I'm not sure if I got the tip from this video or another, but you said to put pothos roots into the HOB filter to help with cleaning the water. Well, I took the advice and 2 days ago put some rooted pothos in 2 of my Flu-val 30 gallon filters. When I did a water change today, I found that the extra effort the filter motor had to expend actually almost over-heated it! To the point where the plastic of the heater that screws onto the plastic of the filter box were both melted somewhat. Luckily I caught it sooner than later, and not too much damage was done. I think I will pass on using that tip! LOL

I submerge the little glasses because its easier to move them for cleaning and don't disturb the established roots (when they get developed) Question, do I still need liquid fert, with root tabs? When I get them home do I take them out of the pots and bury them in the gravel? Or do I bury it pot and all in the gravel? Or is it neither and just set the pot on the gravel in the tank ? I could use a little more instruction please because I've no experience with live aquatic plants for my aquarium.

I know you have a lot of knowledge on Pea Puffers and I’m wondering if you have a suggestion for a clean-up crew for a fully-planted Pea Puffer species tank? I LOVE having snails and shrimp in my other planted tanks because of how amazing they are at cleaning algae. They make the plants look wonderful, but my puffers will obviously eat any and all snails(and possibly shrimp). Any recommendations? :)

Cory, I need your expertise on something.. Ok I purchased 3 swordtail(1male 2female) about 3-4 days ago. So upon arrival 45min from my LFS, one of female swordtail died during transit. Then yesterday the male expired. I bought 12 platy & mollys 7 tiger barbs{lil' assholes}noticed a few trying to bully) at same time and they're all doing fine in two 20gal quarantine so far.... My water tests are at level they should be & current is at minimum so not too harsh on the fish but still circulating. Dude I'm at a loss here.. In my 240 i've got assorted Angels , neon tetras, lyretails, multiple types gourami, assortment of catfish even a few small Oscars (yes in the same community, so far only eat pellets not other fishes)😬.. My problem with swordtails🤷♂️.. Do you have any ideas what could be causing them to die. I noticed the ones that died actually appeared acting abnormal behavior such as like standing vertical(swim bladder damage???) also appear to tremble and stayed t bottom of aquarium. I acclimated them properly, so i don't think that's it. I have kept fish for around 30yr and never seen this type behavior. Am i doing something wrong??Oh also lost one male platy, and today another male is acting weird(sick) no females🤷♂️.. I so glad i quarantined these fish. If they have some disease it'd decimate my main tank. Any suggestions greatly appreciated,..😎👍
