*SPOILER* Sephiroth simply misinterpreted his origins is all, he thought Jenova was his mother which was actually quite the opposite. Jenova almost wiped out the Cetra I think. Sephiroth thought Jenova's people were Cetra. Besides his real mother was Lucrecia and his father, Professor Hojo. So basically Sephy went insane for no good reason. He did have Jenova cells in him like like any other SOLDIER the only difference is was he had them since he was in Lucrecia's womb. Btw the Sephiroth you described would be great to see. I enjoyed him being a good guy in the beginning. However he can virtually kill anyone and anything, which would make him a boring hero anyway.

And with him being created from her cell, he thought he was her son and a cetra, who he thought was betrayed by the humans. So he wanted revenge. He still didn't know the truth when he killed Aerith....

Vizzy Zilla He is. I was disappointed that he wasn't shown so often. Genesis would have made a great main-character within Final Fantasy VII in general, as Vincent turned out to be. I didn't even know he wasn't liked much. I think it mostly has to do with the fact that he wasn't a character that was carried on. And I also think Gackt just didn't have the time to continuously come back to this game series, should the need arrive to make improvements on Genesis...un-freaking-fortunately.

I wonder if there can be an alternate storyline where Sephiroth didn't turn to evil? If Sephiroth learned about his real mother, his birth mother before he learned about being an experiment I don't think he would have had a psychotic break which turned him evil. Sephiroth would have gone to see his mother and rescue her from her hibernation their reunion would have healed Sephiroth. I think he had a psychotic break because he never felt he belonged anywhere and he was desperately hanging on to the only identity he knew which was a first class soldier the most powerful one. Once he learned the truth his fragile identity broke and he made a new one for himself in an effort to turn what he felt as a tragic pitiful existence into something meaningful as the harbinger to destroy the old world and make a new one. Sephiroth felt lost because he has no family the only time he felt needed or wanted was by Shinra because he was so powerful and useful to them. When he discovered Shinra made him a monster and stole the family he could have had the betrayal he felt drove him mad. I feel that none of this would have had happened if he met his real mother he never would have thought himself as a monster if he met his real mother she would have saved him. If Sephiroth could become a hero we would see more of him he is the best character of all the FF series in my opinion.

Sephiroth to me is like Darth Vader or the Lich King from World of Warcraft you just want to see more of them but they where killed of. The only villains that live on are in comic books and the only comic book villain I like is Magneto. So it's great we can see Magneto often but sucks that great villains like Sephiroth are basically gone.

The way square made the prequel was weird how it was on the PSP. The story definitely exceeded every intention. It was amazing. It truly is a sad story... Everyone around Zach died... Ya know?.. And it hit me even more when he read aeriths letter about how its the 89th one she sent. And how she's still waiting for him. It was so upsetting. 4 years passed as she waited. The story was great.. Thomas Coolidge It makes the whole thing more sad and tragic. Sephiroth was complety mad at the time, he probably didn't associate Aerith as Zack's gf when he killed her. In his mind he just killed one more person who was standing in his way. All this care he had for Zack (and Aerith in some way) was completely vanished.

Steve Burton has been great as Cloud for all these years, but I gotta say he REALLY dropped the ball on that scream. I mean come on, he's a freaking soap opera star, he couldn't pull off an "I'm sad that my friend died" shriek? He's probably done it at least 7 times on General Hospital. I don't know who's to blame more, Steve or the voice director that heard that take and said to himself "Nailed it!"

I still wonder, after all these years and no matter how many times I read through the story, watch these movies and play the games over and over again. I still wonder, would things have been different if the people - the protagonists/antagonists had known the truth of their birth and families from the start? Seeing how family seems to be the center message of the game, I just can't help but feel sad for the whole lot of them. Aerith, who had her father and mother murdered while they tried to protect her. Angeal and Genesis, who were actually brothers but never got to learn the truth until so much later, to a point where Genesis hated his step-parents so much that he killed them and Angeal wasn't strong enough to protect his mother either. How about Lucretia and Sephiroth? How would things have gone if she had been allowed to see her child after birth, take care for it the way she wanted, but wasn't allowed to. Would Sephiroth have accepted her as his mother over Jenova? It is sad, really sad.

Saskia Cigam Kadaj, Loz, and Lazzu are different characteristics of Sephiroth that manifested in the Northern Crater when the turks went to retrieve Jenova's head. Genesis was taken by Nero and Weiss (Part of Deep ground - Tsviets ) to try and help them join the war they want to start with the upper world, however Genesis refused and went into hiding deep underground within midgar. Cloud loves Tifa, but form the traumatic event of Zack dying, with the mako poisoning and especially the Jenova cells messing with his body/mind (Giving him the abilities of Zack being a 1st class, but also taking on Zacks personality and memories) He is drawn to Aerith for that reason, but the true cloud always loved tifa :)

Saskia Cigam Cloud never had Tifa, his crush he had on her when they were kids, was long forgotten when he joined Soldier. He didn't want to face her or anyone else in Nibelhiem, because he felt ashamed for not making his dream come true. Tifa fell for Cloud, only because she heard he was going to be this awesome Soldier, so he can save the day and rescue the damsel in distress. I wouldn't say love, but that's where her feelings started to blossom into a crush, hence why she kept asking Zack if Cloud became a 1st class soldier.

Lunch boy L.B Aerith stated in FF7, that she undoubtedly loved Cloud more than Zack, and knew the differences between what traits belonged to Cloud and what defined Zack's personality, thanks to her Cetra powers. So Aerith loving Cloud because of Zack, when she was clearly over him a little before the start of FF7, is false. Although I understand where the confusion lies, for those who haven't watched playthroughs on KZbin, and or false fan interpretations made by other fans, then passing the info onto others. Then there's just straight up denial. In Aerith's official story, Maiden who Travels the Planet, she states again of her love for Cloud, and still views Zack as a best friend. And Zack accepts her wishes. Fun Fact: Aerith only realizes Zack is in the lifestream, after she thinks of Cloud, and not Zack even once. The memories Aerith was thinking about her and Cloud, woke up Zack from his slumber, (Because they both knew Cloud) then that's where Aerith learned that Zack had died, and didn't run off with another girl like she thought he did. So the ending to Crisis Core, which was made long after the making of FF7, is a filler/false ending. It didn't happen. Since it doesn't tie in with Aerith's canon story and makes no mention of Aerith ever sensing Zack had died that die, she didn't know, he had for many years. And it was after her death she finally exposed herself to what happened. In FF7 she points out how she loves Cloud, makes no mention of her love being tied to Zack, multiple times. Back to Aerith's story, Aerith could have patched things up with Zack, but didn't want to, since she had matured into a woman, and wasn't a naïve girl anymore. Zack tried flirting with her, and she still wouldn't let up her feelings for Cloud. Why not? Well, because, she knew the difference between their love, like Aerith said, "I can't be with someone who got along with a lot of girls." Which is hinted at in Crisis Core. Zack flirting with the secretary in one scene, and how easily he was willing to give Cissnei a date, but Cissnei turned him down. Well again, their romance wasn't even that, it was a simple crush they had for one another, and it wouldn't have gone anywhere even if Zack were to not have died. Like Nomura said about the scene where Zack and Aerith met, he described them as falling into a sudden crush, because their rebellious ways related to one another. I can find the quote for you if you still don't believe these facts I'm stating to you. So to say Cloud was loved by Aerith only because of Zack, begs a differ to all this evidence, to say Cloud loved Aerith because of Zack, is also false, on account of him remembering himself, and how his wounded cry reached Aerith in the Lifestream, how his cry surprised her, because she assumed he loved her like a best friend, and felt very deeply for her. Says a lot about how Cloud felt for Aerith. This reminds me of another quote, how Nomura said, The woman (meaning Aerith) was a lover and a dear friend." While describing Cloud and Aerith. There's a lot more evidence from quotes, to character quotes, to symbolism even well into Advent Children.

Yukime Hime no, i played FF7 for the ps1 before advent children even came out. when it was just FF7 and no zero spin-off's yet.you got the 90's kids who say fuck to anything that came after FF7 because it don't go right with all the plot holes the Nomura and the others created... and then the "advent children babies"..meaning those who seen the movie and played Crisis Core but never played the FF7 game for psx. THIS is why this remake is going to be HUGE! because I think they are going to tell the story the way the "advent children babies" view it. A Prime contender for a HD remaster if ever there were one. Never had a PSP and I would have missed out on this back story if it wasn't for this film. Thanks for the upload. :)

OMG that ending! Wow, beautifully done. Cloud, Zack, Sephiroth-such rich histories and lives. Sephiroth and Angeal taught Zack, Zack passed down their (good) legacy to Cloud. Thank you for providing this video, I wouldn't have had such a personal connection to their backstories otherwise.

Now this is the level of story other FF games should have. This story is contented with all sort of developed characters and even the scripts are very naturally written, the acting of the characters are realistic which allow us to watch without feeling awkward and instead being more engaged. Unlike ahem* FFXIII ahem*

I remember trying to make a move where zack didnt have to die.when i realised he had to die i just cried and blubbered like a baby. I fell asleep crying! Lol. I loved this game, was very addictive.

I have some ideas for an acceptable way to have additional content in the remake of FFVII (if there will be one). 1- Introduce Cissnei's character in a possible side group of missions. 2- Have important moments from Crisis Core be playable flashback sequences, like the fight between Zack and Sephiroth. 3- Maybe add in a new town or two to explore and add in a couple of new dungeons. 4- expand the Gold Saucer and refine the games that were already there. (Chocobo Racing needs an upgrade.)
