Pinning these FAQ's so I dont have to answer them a ton: Q: why not just use Sens gate skip? Why kill quelaag and gargs? A: You need to visit firelink altar in some capacity in order to do the wrong warp into the kiln. The only 2 ways to do that are to ring both bells and wake up frampt, or to talk to kaathe after killing 4 kings and sif. If you have a good damage source early on, its just faster to kill quelaag and gargs early just to avoid backtracking and extra bonfire activations/resting/warps. This route is over a minute faster than the previous dragon tooth route that used sens gate skip. Routing wins Q: Is this the Remaster or the original release? A: This is the original release. "Dark Souls" on Speedrun.com is the original release's leardboard for this run, and remaster has a separate leaderboard. This is due to both games having a substantial amount of differences like glitches being patched or introduced in the remaster, the in game timer working differently, and the fact they're 2 separate games with some other differences that make them not 1:1 for leaderboards or routing purposes.

that was the second part of a glitch he setup with the merchant, he used a stored quantity value to underflow his twinkling titanite thus giving him 68 for upgrading black knight greatsword ( I could be entirely wrong )

that is a very common glitch that is normally used to dupe souls in order to gain infinite levels, in this case they are using the dupe glitch to get some twinkling titanite to upgrade their weapon

Yea, we were a but surprised when it ended up being faster to just use the firelink bonfire the whole time and not do sens gate skip. But that's why this game is really cool as a speedgame. The routing can be super diverse depending on what weapons you use or what goal you have for the run. Most other categories still use sens gate skip, but for the shorter ones, its just faster to not do it anymore

@@THEchakkidhe falls some distance whilst casing the force miracle and simultaneously swaps to the homeward miracle which warps you back to the last bonfire you rested at (being the one inside firelink alter) but the game gets confused for reasons and instead just uses a default location instead of the bonfire. it just so happens that the devs chose the default location as after the door so theres no need to fill the lord vessel

The accuracy of the set up required for the seamwalking to quelaag is so crazy. Actually looks slightly different than what I had seen, I thought it only worked from one specific angle/direction. But it seems as long as you're looking at the general blobs toward the doorway and fully against the wall it works. The more you know!
