Are there any wireless camera & monitors on the market that would allow you to see what is going on? Or can you wire in a 100 foot hand held crane controler that would allow you to stand anywhere?
@TheByard5 жыл бұрын
Good job and no casualty's I drove cranes for years way back in 60s, 70s, One was a 60ft tower crane mounted on crawler and in 3hrs would fold down to become a semi trailer, the other great feature was I drove it with control panel slung around my shoulders connected to the machine via an umbilical cord. We used it to build 4 story precast concrete panel and floors apartments, with the remote control I could watch the pick off trucks and then walk to the landing site. Each panel had to land in an exact position so I could be right beside it a land MM exact, when they guys were installing props I could run out mortar ready for the next lift. I just wonder if there's a kit available to install on your rig, it would make your job a lot easier and faster. I also spent a lot of time driving cranes on tunnel construction shafts, man there is nothing so boring as watching the banks hand signals all day and to wind me up they would signal me all round the shaft and up & down a few dozen times. They now have a camera and cockpit screen system so it's easy. Safe driving and keep the great vids coming. Stay safe guys.

Awwww...The chain is on backwards. Once, a while back, I was helping some friends clear snowmobile trails up in Massachusetts in late fall. There was a crew of guys mostly homeowners that owned a chainsaw but rarely used one. My friend was recovering from a head injury that could have killed him. Widowmaker got him right outside his house a few months prior. He was happy to get out and work on the trails with us. I baked pecan sticky buns to have with coffee and brought them. Ok, so thats the set up, I am busy cutting a big birch blowdown and my friend is working on the limbs. I had to chuckle, he was making smoke but not chips. I asked if I could borrow his saw. I went over to a stump while he went over to the coffee and pecan sticky buns. I took his chain off and flipped it. Gave him his saw back. He was amazed that I had "tuned it up so it would cut" ... I didn't have the heart to tell him he had the chain on backwards. The other guys would have teased him. He was proud to show his wife the woodchips in his pockets at the end of a fun day. Smiling, George.
