This recipe has all the flavours of pad thai, except the noodles are crispy! This is part 2 of my Mee Krob series, where in the first video I showed you how to make the noodles (recipe link below), which you can enjoy on their own as a great savoury snack. About Pai:
Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the KZbin channel Pailin's Kitchen.
Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her "playtime" in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.
After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via KZbin videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes. She currently lives in Vancouver, and goes to Thailand every year to visit her family. Visit her at hot-thai-kitchen.com

My wife does not like sweet and savory dishes of any kind. So I made a similar Mee Grob that was savory only. I deep fried the rice noodles plain and made a version of the usual recipe without sweetness. I would then serve this over the fried rice noodles. This gives a combination of textures with some soft noodles and some crisp noodles.

I absolutely LOVE YOU, You are so amazing ! Being a Italian/Mexican who is a confirmed Japanophile, I had the luck when I lived in Reno Nevada to eat at the Siamese Hut, and the cook was the former retired cook of the Thai Royal Family of Thailand. I am a Great cook in Italian & Mexican food, I learned Japanese food from YOSHI who used to cook for the Hollywood BIG SHOTS & Stars, and now I have Discovered you, so I dumped all my other Thai Cooking info as it is CRAP compared to your skills and exclusively use yours Recopies alone! Now that I live in the Philippines, which has NO GOOD THAI Restaurants here where I am located, I can start practicing your methods to finally tame my addiction for thai food! I just cooked this , took a while because I had to make the crispy noodle first , I got the flavour ratio right , not to sweet or sour , taste was great 👍

I used to work with a chef who’d make the thin egg to cut thin for his Singapore mei fun. I believe he did it with less egg in the wok and used gravity by lifting the wok off the fire to help release the thin egg sheet

Pai, great video once again. I'd like to request a recipe if you've ever had it: fermented/sour fried pork ribs. There's many Thai and Hmong restaurants in the Saint Paul/Minneapolis community in Minnesota, and out of all the ones that I've been to, there has only been one restaurant that has made the fermented fried pork ribs and it was amazing! Please consider this request in the future. Happy eating!

Pailin, your "glug" definition of fish sauce is same as my definition of "glug." Gordon Ramsay's "glug" would have been 1/8 of bottle😄
