I just made this tonight and it is GOOD. I’d recommend using slightly more brine in the tofu marinade if you want that nice saltiness and I’m glad I added extra- I marinated for 12 hours. The tartar was absolutely fantastic as is. Only drawback was the state of the hob afterwards which was covered in batter 🤣

I've noticed your recent concerns with the fires in the Amazon jungle. I am Brazilian and currently live in Brazil. There has been a lot of media attention given to these fires and I must assure you that very much of it is exagerated. If you look into it carefully, you will find experts explaining why these fires happen especially in the dry season. Brazil has strict environmental regulations, it has 61% of its territory preserved and only 10% of its fertile land dedicated to the agrobusiness and a major concern towards development and preservation going hand-in-hand. The United States of America have recently said, "farms here, forests there" - which shows a clear intention of deterring the development of countries such as ours which have an enourmous potential to supply food on a global scale, which it is already doing so. To cut it short, I suggest you investigate this issue further: there are huge interests from governments all around the world in the riches contained in the Amazon region and its role and importance as a regulator of the world climate and we, Brazilians, understand this importance more than anyone else. This is why we understand that the Amazon jungle might be useful to everyone, but also that it is official territory of some south American countries. I feel it is clear that Brazil will never allow part of our nation to fall under the control of international groups. This news that you hear, even posted by famous celebrities, is the result of panic and misinformation. Ah, and I do like your recipes!

"Vegan fish". VEGAN fish. Vegan as in free of animal products. Fish as in the culinary dish. It is pretty clear in the title and description, that it is vegan. Food doesn't always have to be made exactly the same way it was made back when it was first invented. Or that means that pepperoni isn't allowed on pizza. Or marshmallows can't be called marshmallows anymore since they are no longer made with Althaea Officinalis, a marsh plant from the mallow family. Fish dishes were called that because traditionally they were made with fish flesh. But they can also be made with other foods instead. The term is to describe the dish: it's taste, texture, appearance... Calling it tofu is insufficient to describe that it is a fish dish and not just generic tofu. Just like you wouldn't call all flavors of ice cream "ice cream". A: What kind of flavor do you want? B: Ice cream A: Which kind of ice cream? B: The ice cream kind. A: But which one? Strawberry? Vanilla? Bubble gum? B: Ice cream isn't a strawberry. It's ice cream. I want the ice cream one. A: This one? B: No! Not the ice cream one! The ice cream one! A: I don't understand which one! Why can't you describe it? B: Descriptions aren't allowed. It's just ice cream. Give me the ice cream one, not the ice cream one. A: Please leave... How should I say I like vegan fried chicken more than vegan fried fish? I like fried tofu more than fried tofu? There are literally thousands of kinds of vegan meats, many of which are tofu-based but can be made from other plants too. We are allowed to describe things just like you non-vegans are. So you keep calling artificially flavored ice cream "strawberry ice cream", gelatin-based marshmallows "marshmallows", people-shaped cookies "gingerbread men, and random pig parts "hot dogs", dairyless peanut spread "peanut butter", and we'll keep calling fish-style tofu "vegan fish", chicken-style seitan "vegan chicken", etc. The only reason you're complaining is because it's vegan alternatives to animal products which further challenges misconceptions that we need to harm animals to get foods we enjoy. Because I doubt you complain about marshmallows or hot dogs. It's not our fault if you feel threatened by the existence of vegan options.
