It's true every woman isn't cut out to be a mother. You have these women out here who pop out babies and are the worst parents ever but then there are women who can't have kids and yet they would be the best mothers in the world. That's why when you get into these relationships communication is important. Ask these questions cause in the long run it can affect everything. Owen and Christina never sat down and had that conversation. He found out while they were doing a surgery that she didn't want kids. They were together for 5 years on the show and not once did the conversation come about. He thought that because Meredith had kids that Christina would want kids because she's her friend.

@@MissStephy100 that wasn't the issue. Her not being honest about that before they got married is the issue. Her and Owen never had the conversation. They got married after the shooting and they were only together for a year if that. Also Owen automatically thought because Meredith had Zola that Christina would want a child eventually but never did. He loved her so much and thought they could get through it but couldn't. It was how she handled the abortion. She told Owen that she was pregnant and totally dismissed his feelings about it. She should've gotten the abortion without telling him.

And this scene breaks my heart, because it was this storyline the marked the end of Owen and Cristina, not all at once, but it was a steady decline from this point onward. He could never get over the abortion and then he cheated, and then they divorced, but were still kind of together and then Cristina cut the cord and let him go, and now Oh's leaving :'(

well first things first that word is offensive, regardless of whether you're using it to describe a fictional character. And secondly, I wasn't happy that they wrote her that way, I wasn't happy with her decision, but that was the character Shonda wrote, some women don't want children, I personally don't agree with Abortion in the sense that Christina exercised it, but that was the Character. And furthermore Owen stood by her (albeit after Meredith yelled at him) and held her hand, and then he held it against her.

Yes ... I love Cristina and Owen and this was always an example of how love is just not enough. They loved each other so much but couldn't be together anyway. Honestly, I can't picture Cristina being there and they not being together, so in a sense and I don't like to admit that, she leaving was the best thing that could've happened to both of them (because I think the writers would screw up completely).

I actually love this scene because it contrasts and compares their characters so nicely without “ruining” them. Cristina not wanting kids is perfectly her choice. Not every woman wants or needs a child, or is suited to be a mother. Though, Owen definitely has a point in all of this, to which the baby is his too, and he always wanted to be a father. This scene is both heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time, which basically embodies the entire Crowen relationship. I really miss them 💕

@lababe1996 abortions are legal but highly controversial in this country between the two primary parties. For moral, civil, and financial reasons, Democrats want it to be "readily" (for a lack of better term) available and more accepted while Republicans want to illegalize it. Whether or not abortion should be covered by insurance is the most addressed and relevant issue right now. IMHO, It's a terrible position for both Cristina and Owen to be in. I do think they both deserve their say.

i don't mind that Cristina doesn't want a child. i respect that. but if she is so sure about that then she should have been better about contraceptive. abortion is not birth control. i am pro - choice, but it is unethical to be as smart as her and as cavalier about life at the same time.

@@MsSonnencreme Well, probably because it's a TV show and we need this ridiculous drama. But in real life many women who don't want children don't get sterilized because it's INCREDIBLY hard to find a doctor who would be willing to do it. The vast majority of women who have seeked out tubal ligations and have succeeded in getting it are women who have already had kids and are in their late 30s. Many women who haven't had kids and want to be sterilized or turned away by doctors because they believe that they'll eventually change their minds, like women are biologically inclined to want kids and if they don't then there's something wrong with them. Like they're just HAS to be some kind of trauma or something that makes them THINK that they don't want to have kids, but once they sort that out and they've already gotten sterilized then they'll regret it. Meanwhile men can get vasectomies as young as 17 in some states, it's just blatant sexism and wanting to control women's bodies as much as possible.

Am I the only one who thinks she might be scared? She didn't plan this baby, but in this scene I keep thinking she might be scared of pregnancy (the hormones that might change her etc.)? She said it might be good in the future and she said that she's not a monster and would love their baby (and I believe her). I think she wasn't ready at this time and if she gets pregnant again she would think about it with owen and keep it. I believe she changed and I still have my fingers crossed for a CO-Baby

I read some new spoilers today. Owen will have big problems getting over it in this season. He will be very pissed, putting-fist-on-other-people-pissed. Will surely be heartbreaking. No one suffers more beautiful and heartwrenching than my hottie Owen. He is adorable and sweet! No one but me deserves him. LOL!
