Oh no the dreaded security tags. Those things are a menace to Blu-rays everywhere. Great picks, hopefully the Cassavetes set doesn't have the security tag at another location.

Thanks man, and yeah those security tags are the worst! I’ll be getting the other videos up soon. Stay tuned

Grabbed 9 during the late June Target b2g1 and have grabbed 9 so far during the July sale. Plan on grabbing 2 more of next week's releases.
@FilmsByColor2 жыл бұрын
Nice! Which ones did you pick up?
@David-uc6sg2 жыл бұрын
Double Indemnity, The Last Waltz, For All Mankind, Le Cercle Rouge, His Girl Friday, Heaven's Gate, Beast of No Nation's, The Great Dictator and when We Were Kings during the b2g1. Worst Person in the World, Shaft, Okja, Virgin Suicides, Raging Bull. Being There, Pink Flamingos, Diabolique and Chan is Missing from the 50% sale. Last 2 I plan to grab are Drive My Car and Devil in a Blue Dress.
@20thand21stMovies2 жыл бұрын
Awesome pickups! The Vanishing is so good. I heard about the color controversy on the new Le Cercle Rouge release. I haven’t seen the original blu-ray so I don’t have it to compare to but I thought the 4K looked great. Rebecca is one of my favorite Hitchcock films. So cool to see an Atlanta based vid. That is one the locations I get my Criterions during the sales. Enjoy the pickups and safe travels!
@FilmsByColor2 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! A fellow Atlanta collector, that’s awesome. I need to check out Rebecca soon. I’ve been in a Hitchcock mood, since I picked up the 4k digibooks recently.

What's up Conner in the Car would be a very cool series...if you guys continued your revenge games throughout. That "How I Ended up with 2 Copies of The Third Man" was so great. And that Wes Anderson video ranking is going to be great as well. Haha Conner's enthusiasm over you not seeing Wes Anderson movies in theaters was....there's a lot of greatness to go around today. Thanks again, DJ! And aw man...I have not seen Rebecca. Shame on me. Keep crushing!

Thanks man! I’ll be recording the Wes Anderson video soon, and there may be some updates to the whole Third Man/Time Bandits drama too :)

I also got Teorema and Le Cercle Rouge. I haven't seen either but I'm a huge Melville fan! I went to the store near me and got a small stack, although the store didn't have any of the five that were highest on my list. I ordered a bunch online a few days later. I went into this sale with a pretty finalized list and was able to get most of what I wanted, including a couple Arrow releases because those are also 50% off. I haven't received my order, yet, though; it should be arriving within the next couple days :)

the american version of the vanishing was a big let down for me since they changed the ending of the dutch version......the whole point of the movie is can a decent man do an evil thing.

Is this sale every July??
@MagnitudeReviews2 жыл бұрын
I definitely went crazy this July sale. I typically like to try to keep my spending to around 5 titles per sale... but uh... I ended up purchasing the following titles: - Worst Person in the World - Citizen Kane 4K - Woman in the Dunes - Okja 4K - Raging Bull 4K - Drive My Car (pre-order) - Double Indemnity 4K Also grabbed two non-criterion titles being: Everything Everywhere All At Once (A24) & Joint Security Area (Arrow) And I couldn't help myself because I saw a damn good deal on facebook marketplace where I picked up all of the following titles for $150 total: - Roma (2018) - Y Tu Mama Tambien - Flowers of Shanghai - Before Trilogy - Three Colors Trilogy - Apu Trilogy ... My wallet now has a hole in it and it hurts but I don't regret it. Lol.
@FilmsByColor2 жыл бұрын
I feel you man. I totally bought way too much this sale. You got some great pickups though. That’s an incredible deal for $150! I Loved Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Before Trilogy, and The Three Colors Trilogy. And I want to grab the the Apu trilogy too.

The spider wrap stuff is so bad. Will never understand why they don't just use those clear cases with the protector on it like Walmart or other retailers.
@FilmsByColor2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. That’s a much better solution. I cringe every time I see a beautiful box set ruined by one of those stupid things.
@anillegibletombstone2 жыл бұрын
I'd rather have them behind glass like they used to do at Borders bookstore. Stores near me don't use the spider wrap that much they usually just put them behind the counter. That's much better than damaging the sets. If enough people mention that they won't buy the sets if they damage them with the spider wrap maybe more stores will stop and just put them behind the counter.
