McLaren's work is some of the best auteur film making coming out of Canada. Keep Your Mouth Shut, and some of his other animated works deserves to be seen by anyone who likes offbeat filmmaking. Would love to see a McLaren collection come out from Criterion.

Actually there is a pretty good collection of McLaren's work that exists (or at least did exist). Great to see Criterion give us Canucks a nod. I was raised on NFB films. Probably why I'm so weird now. LOL Kudos Criterion, keep McLaren alive!

1:53 The sound is out of sync. This is distressingly common in McLaren's published works. It's juts a few frames but it's absolutely maddening. When corrected, the sync is absolutely mind-boggling.

I expected more of Criterion. This is just a bored narrator reading an entry that was posted on the NFB blog some years ago.
