@ Fallen Angels was my first WKW film. It's highly entertaining. ITMFL could be accused of being a slow burn if there werent so many small tiny details packed in every scene that are easily missed. If you ever try to watch it again, be hyper vigilant watching it, there is alot going on. Just in the camera work and framing alone. Lines that seem like throwaways are packed with so many implications and meaning.

For those of us that watch a lot of movies, the majority of the picks do not excite because they've been critically acclaimed or taken on cult status, but every now and again, someone comes up with a real humdinger. My all-time stand out pick was made by Cate Blanchett. She picked Mikhail Kalatozov's Letter Never Sent, a movie I'd never heard of, one which never comes up in any greatest movies lists in books or online movie sites. I immediately sought it out and was staggered by the jaw dropping beauty of it. It's an exceptional piece of filmmaking and would have a rightful place in any greatest movies list.

Nice picks. When I was around 12 my dear old mum insisted I stay up late on a school night to watch 12 Angry Men on TV as she thought it was important for me to see how one man doing the right thing could make a difference. I don't remember what I learned at school the next day but I've never forgotten this film. It's still in my top 5 - and I love A LOT of films.
