I've actually been on a race track many times My approach in iRacing is to learn the track and racing line before a race Be careful of cold tires at the beginning Try to be consistent and smooth Be mindful of other drivers If I know someone is much faster than me, I let them pass in a safe area If I do these things I usually have a good enjoyable race

I race on iRacing, The thing i decided to do a couple of years ago as i was sick of over aggressive drivers in the main stream categories was to find a low participation series that goes live a few times a week with a core group of people. This gives you time during the week to pratice for the timeslots that go live and when they do go live you are prepared to race. As the lower participation classes are generally harder to drive but with practice it becomes easier. The people you race are regulars and they generally race with respect and racing generally becomes a lot more fun.

Really enjoyed your video. Mood and mindset 👍. I enjoy racing but frequently enjoy hot lapping or time trials even more. As much as I’d like to do more online racing, I know my skill level varies greatly depending on the class and track. I have no desire to ruin someone else’s race OR have someone ruin mine for the “win at any cost”.

Great mindset, I'd recommend doing more online races as you only get better by getting used to it. 🙂

Very good points and put across well. It applies in real racing too. The big difference is that most, but not all, real racers learn these points quickly. In sim-racing you have to pick your races carefully to get decent racing.

There are those that just dont understand side by side racing or that a 2 ro 3 second a lap faster guy behind you is far better letting him pass. If you want to be consistent in racing, practice until you have at least 5 laps within 2 tenths, then get 1 friends or more go side by side racing etc in practice. That will increase ones results within a months worth or dedicated practice. I practice up to an hour depending on if i know the combo well enough.

Subscribing for common sense wisdom that every sim racer should hear. Seriously, if nothing else, iRacing should make every new subscriber watch this chapter 6:22 If I’m having a bad day, and I want to game, I just play some Cyberpunk and blow shit up. The rest of the time, I’m in iRacing. 😅

I already fail the first step half the time,and then i overthink and beat myself up over spilled milk. I need to stop doing that because thats caused me to drop from 1.4k to 500IR ,and it often ruins my day, but after i get my pc fixed,ill probably get back to ACC,because Iracing just drains me.

I've done this countless times! Entered races I was not mentally prepared for. I end up losing concentration and end my race in some stupid accident, usually my own mistakes. Not so much more after learning tip 1!

Its a game, you pay to enjoy yourself. Remember shit happens, even in real life racing - the pros even make mistakes. Its all about learning and improving. Practice and implement during race events. Its the journey. I feel many people try to level up too fast, causing unnecessary frustration. 😊

I have to strongly disagree with point two. This only ensures that you become too picky and only take part in a race if you can do the car/track combination perfectly. You just can't go into the race unprepared and want to win, you have to realize that others are better. Accordingly, you just enjoy the race and take it easy. That takes a lot of pressure off the whole competition and it's more fun, as this attitude then carries over to perfectly prepared races.
@menjoSIM3 ай бұрын
For me both ways are right, because if I jump in a race where I dont know the track, 99% of the times I'm gonna have a bad race because I didn't practiced it and I get frustrated from simracing, but yes you can get too picky with it
@scorps03263 ай бұрын
@@menjoSIMI agree with this. You need to have some kind of understanding about the car and track combo. It doesn't have to be perfect, but a couple of practice laps first at least is required in my book. Everyone is different, but as a general rule - some practice will cause everyone less incidents... 😊
@TheOfficialRandomGuy3 ай бұрын
I don’t have to know the car, but I’ve got to know the track. I don’t want to go out there and ruin someone’s race because I’m learning the track as I go.

If you are not practising that combo prior to racing, then this will be why most of those people have negative results/incidents.
