If you like all the interactive options with characters, you should check out the rules by Two Hour Wargames. They have been doing these character interaction rules for over 10 years. Characters can interact with each other, become enemies and friends, gamble with each other, meet women for companionship, have fist fights, picket pocket, get arrested and put on trial and more depending on the rules. Rules by THW are also designed for solo play with campaign systems and creates an interesting narrative for your characters.

Great overview of Sharp Practice. I ran across Rich and Nick playing a game and the next day I ordered the "package". I could stand not have the rules to read "right now" so I bought the digital version too, LOL. I now have about 300 figures to assemble and paint for the American Revolution. oh joy, LOL subscribed

Why don’t you design an interactive scenario for us? I’d like to try it out.

I say this seriously, and no hyperbole here ... if I had a dollar for every time this game was recommended to me, I could have bought it and built an army for it by now. :D

Haha it's basically the default Black powder Skirmish game at this point and for good reason. It is still a bit to niche and the rules just a bit too weird for it to get really mainstream love like Bolt Action does but honestly I can't think of any way to make a 100% mainstream game like Bolt Action set in the Black Powder period. If we ever find ourselves in the same Hemisphere I'd be more than happy to run you through a game :)

Great review, thank you! are there rules for napoleons first italian campaign or danube campaign in the book or in some supplements? or skirmishes between Austria and Confederation of the Rhine? I'd like to play Austrians vs some german mini states or Italians.
