It's easy for someone on the outside to say, "Oh, yeah, these folks get into mystical dangers all the time, they must behave this way because they're not in mortal peril anymore and can relax to the fullest," and assume that they're serious business when they're actually doing their work. All of this just made Essek realize, "Oh, no. They're just like this ALL THE TIME."
