I wish we got to see Yasha more than we do. I think she adds a lot to the cast.

Me too, her absences have turned her into the most mysterious character of the group. Some might argue Molly had more mystery, but I'm sticking with Yasha on that point.
@kender66845 жыл бұрын
I agree but it is also fun to watch Yasha walk into a tavern and there is the gang and they start talking about all the BS trouble they are in and her reacting with, "Wha.. who.. how the hell are these people still in one piece?"

AmishRiot well i think that has to do with her backstory that we havent gotten into because Ashley isnt around a lot. We dont know who she follows. Who the Stormlord is to her. We dont know why she left her home country. Yasha is an interesting character who has yet to shine.

I felt really sorry for Ashley last campaign.Since she has been gone for so many episodes it was really hard for her to keep up with characters and events happening so she had to be quiet most of the time and she hated joining games by skype.I know she was having fun no matter what but still.

I love Ashley. She's so talented but she's also by far the most quiet of the group. She's got a very passive playstyle which is like how I play with my friends. I might not have connected with Pike like I did with Grog and Scanlan, but I always enjoyed what Ashley brought in when she did open up and get into her role :) She brings a lot to the table and she's always sorely missed when she's busy with work. Thank you Ashley, for being part of the CR community.

I was floored when I realized how accurate Ashley was when she said that D&D filled a void. I had never thought about it like that before, but that completely makes sense. It's even more apparent when you feel like an addict going through withdrawal because you haven't gamed for a while or at least watched someone else on a stream.

The whole group in critical role are indeed very talented and all have sparked my creativity and passion again by seeing such great joy and fantastic charisma between each other but Ashley captivates me in all she does.. Everyone loves watching the show cause its a chance for us to "hang out" and watch Critical Role. That means we have fun when you have fun! You shouldnt put too much thought or effort into being an entertainer.

For me, Yasha is just a more interesting character. Pike was pretty much the archetypal Cleric. Nothing wrong with playing archetypes by the way. Ashley RPed well and Pike was an asset to the party in _every_ session she played in. If you haven't got that combo down, the most interesting backstory won't save you. But Yasha is much more mysterious. You look at the character and go, "What's _her_ story then?" It it bad that I want her character in Blindspot to be written out so I can see more Yasha?
@EAfirstlast5 жыл бұрын
Ashley was very new when she made Pike, so there was less depth in the end. Ashley is very experienced now and so Yasha has all the clever thought that a veteran Roleplayer brings

I'm told by a friend who watches Blindspot that Ashley's character is one of the best things in it and "they'd be extremely stupid to write Patterson out.", so I think she may be in for the duration, which is good for her but sad for our viewing.

I don't know if she did it on purpose, but from what I know of Ashley I think she did. Ashley seems like the weakest when it comes to improv, but considering how Yasha is described, it seems like Ashley is making that a part of the character, and doing it super well! Yasha is basically a guest character at this point. I feel bad for Matt as a DM, being loyal to your friend but also frustrated that you constantly have to write their character out and back in constantly. I had that for a current campaign and had to tell my friend the truth that we've moved on in the story and we may have to move on without them.
@ZesTheMaze5 жыл бұрын
blindspot needs to kill off her character haha, i dont think its frustrating for matt to whrite her in and out with her backstory it makes sence that she has to leave sometimes to do whatever it is that she's doing in the storm

It's really not that bad if you enjoy playing with that person and they're only gone because of their other commitments. It becomes an issue when that person starts flaking and you plan for them to be there but they don't show up. You can always write an excuse as to why someone isn't there if you know they won't be there beforehand. (Speaking from personal experiences.)

"So much to learn, thats what keeps me coming back". Pay attention DnD 6E. 5E is a fine replacement for Basic edition from the late 70s early 80s. But please bring back the more complex rules for the next edition. Please make the next edition either similar to Expert edition of even a revamp of 1st. Some players love the complex rule system. With computers able to automate (Fantasy Grounds for example), complex rules it is even more doable than it was back in the 80s. And please, WoTC, understand the marketing idea that "simple rules will entice women to play" is soft sexism of low expectations. It is insulting. Don't be (stop being) sexist.
@danielknapp1595 жыл бұрын
i thought they only made new editions when the old ones become unpopular or are complained about a lot. from what i understand there is no need for a sixth edition anytime soon, especially with the new books coming out.
@jshricks5 жыл бұрын
5E is broken in a couple of major ways. This is not a complaint, just cold hard facts. But that is irrelevant from WoTC's prospective, new editions come out when sales slump.
@FinalFirebrand5 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't think this new party will ever be as endearing as the original...now it's a show, a production, whereas the first one always just felt like a group of friends recording their sessions. It's a little sad, to be honest.
@sandrols75 жыл бұрын
I really don't see that. THey're still a group of good friends, their chemistry is amazing! When Molly died you could see how all of them felt terrible about it, and every time one of their characters gets a huge development or reveals something that really changes the character, they listen to it intensely. Sure they might joke about some things, such as being send away from the table, but I don't see how their game has gotten less engaging. the only thing that makes it somewhat more like a show are their live episodes, the little bits that take place in the break, but the show itself... COuld you maybe give an example as to why this new campaign feels like less of an experience for you?
@TheRealityleak5 жыл бұрын
I'm actually preferring campaign 2 more. It's as if they knew they had to put more in to the characters. Jester and Caleb are killing it so far.
@Gtgreen35 жыл бұрын
It's not as endearing cause they themselves haven't completed their character, on campaign one you started at around 11th lvl. They are established characters with connections between each other, backstory together, inside jokes, etc. That made them when you watched them endearing from the beginning, now you are watching from the very beginning their first meetin. Watching the connections being made, the friendships growing, their relationship as a whole coming together and I think that by lvl 11 you might feel the same way even more you might feel as part of the group, because you were there when they took the dodecaheadron it's not a story being told like the magic carpet if that makes sense.
@joshuastender48715 жыл бұрын
I fear that the two years that Matt said this campaign will be played won't be long enough for the cast to really truly fill their characters out to the point where they feel like actual people, instead of pretend roles. C1 started long before Critical Role, and even after was played for what like 2.5 years? It's no wonder that Vox Machina was so endearing by the end, the characters had become like a dual nature/psyche to the respective cast members. Except Sam, that dude's put some serious soul into not just Scanlan but Taryon and Nott as well. Just my opinion though.
@roarkthehalf-orc65985 жыл бұрын
This is very hard for a lot of people to hear but Ashley’s just a glorified guest player at this point. She should just focus 100% on her career
@hertzrozen5 жыл бұрын
I mean... in the end Pike was just their way to get the true heroes of the story resurrected (I lost count of how many episodes are just "contact Pike, get her in astral form and get character X resurrected")... Yasha is barely in the party... is not like Ashley is really someone that add a lot to the cast. Which is unfortunate, since the party clearly lacks someone who act as a moral compass or just someone that can "glue" all of them together like Pike did. Unfortunate, but really one of the reason why I stop watching CR
