I saw the movie opening night and actually thoroughly enjoyed it. And I am as superhero movie fatigued as anyone. The story was energetic and interesting and I laughed quite a few times. The emotional moments weren’t undercut by nonsense and all the characters were given proper respect. I haven’t been a fan of Ezra Miller and his quirky spectrum portrayal of Flash previously, but I thought he carried the movie quite well. I loved the contrast between main timeline Barry and younger alternate timeline Barry. One could see main timeline Barry was matured by being adult and experiencing adult problems while also fighting crime. The scars of his family trauma also showed more. Especially contrasted against the 18 year old version of him that was goofy and immature. As well as not experiencing family trauma because his mother never died. Michael Keaton absolutely stole the movie, and they resisted the urge to make Supergirl an over powered Mary Sue. She was bad ass, but clearly not the equal of Kal-El or Zod. Which made total sense in the framework of her personal earth story. Not a perfect movie, but mostly well done. The CGI was early 2000s level in certain scenes. My only major gripe.

Agree with everything except the Mary Sue part (i mean, she's not even bordering on being a MS). Kara just wasn't exposed to Earth and it's inhabitants to have the kind of well rounded, flawed etc characterization that would make sense to the viewers. Her conflict was also limited yet logically based on her own circumstances. Plus she also works with whatever knowledge she got from her predecessors and family. It didn't feel like they made her an all powerful being and took us by surprise in showing her limitations towards the end. Literally every Kryptonian on screen has solid physical prowess so hers against a bunch of earthlings wasn't surprising at all.

And I like how they showed she got drained by fighting the Russian soldiers. She didn’t grow up on earth and hadn’t had years to soak in the solar rays. She had been kept in a lead lined bowl with no sunlight. She was weakened and limited in power. I thought the filmmakers represented this well.

I agree, the first part of the movie was worrisome, especially Ezra's acting, but by the time Keaton showed up, the movie picked up. The first part could have been condensed, leaving more time for Keaton and Supergirl (I really liked her), but then it might not have been as Flash-centred. Overall, I had a good time. Luckily I got to see the cameo at the end (so good!). And yes, I noticed Gal Gadot's "flash" too, lol.

Perks of Being a Wallflower is my favorite story ever told. The book and the movie are both my favorite. Ezras performace had a lot to do with the movie working as well as it did. Im so disappointed what hes done to his career. Hes one of the guys i really wanted to succeed. And hes The Flash in a DC movie with freaking Michael Keaton as Batman again so i guess he has succeeded but not without ruining his reputation.

Everyone (not all) is excited for the flash movie after every bad thing (arrested multiple times for assault & threats & public disturbances & arrested for throwing the chair on the woman's head - nearly killing her) Erza Miller did and the disturbing serious allegations (pedophilia, leader of sex cult, assaulting ex-girlfriends, grooming underage children, etc) against him were serious. In case you don't know, Erza Miller's new girlfriend & her children were reported missing after Erza was arrested for breaking in & committed theft. They were last seen staying with Erza in his house and this was the last time she stopped communicating to her friends and her family on her phone & social media. Before their disappearance, there were rumors & evidence (Erza was abusing her physically, her children were playing in the sitting room with drugs & guns scattered, her baby playing with the bullet which was recorded, etc) of child neglect & endangerment and violence taking place there and police & child protective services were investigating this. After Erza Miller's arrest, they went into his house looking for them. They weren't there but their belongings are there and Erza Miller denied to the police that he didn't see them in months. Old & new regime of Warner Bros are the reason why he's not in prison and getting rewarded. They helped him evade from the police while reshooting the flash movie scenes. They protected him because of the movie promotion, positive reactions & he's part of the normalized cults LGBTQ & using misused pronouns. They ignored his crimes & enabled him and don't care about the missing mother & her missing children. I lost my respect for James gunn, tom cruise, & other celebrities who watched and supported it You can say the reason why I am watching flash movie is because of Batman (Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck) & Michael Shannon, etc all you want. Erza Miller is burnt into your memory if you watch the flash movie. That doesn't change the fact Erza Miller is the bad person I the lead role & will be burnt into your memory when you watch the flash movie. Henry Cavill is the greatest Superman of all time. He was robbed and the audience was robbed. In that context, showing anyone else as Superman on screen is a clear and deliberate insult to Henry. I'm done with DC unless they bring back Henry Cavill and acknowledge that he embodies Superman in a way that no one else can imitate.

Honestly, I grew up work Till Welling's portrayal of Clark becoming Superman and ice even read the comics that continue that story so to me, Tom is the best, with Reeves pretty much tied and would be higher if I hadn't spent 10 seasons with Tom lol. Henry was great with what he was given, and would've been amazing to see how much more he could have done.

Same! I wish he was more involved with the creative aspect of the DCU though, he's a pretty big fan of the characters. I have more faith in Henry Cavill being one of the creative heads of the DCU and what we've gotten so far. I love James Gunn and I think he should play a significant role as a creative head, I think the Gunverse works for a Gods and Monsters Universe (which would be pretty interesting) and I'm all for supporting him in that, however, it shouldn't be the main DCU.

I actually really liked the Snyder cut of Justice League, one of my favorite super hero movies of all time. Man of steel and BVS weren't bad but they came out after the Nolan trilogy and nothing can compare to them. If DC just gave Snyder time to world build and stayed more focused DC movies would be amazing now. But they just derailed themselves, suicide squad, birds of prey, black Adam, WW 1984, Shazam all over the map. Then they had success with stuff like Joker and The batman but they don't seem to fit into anything taking any weight away.

the movie is entertaining after all, even with its flaws, kind of representing for the whole DC era we had. Kara losing to Zod was a very good decision, since he is far more expereinced as a warior - he always ending up killing her with a clever trick, like stabing her with an A. Creed style dagger out of his sleeve, or breaking her neck - making it even more obvious she never stood a chance in the first place. Same as Keatons Batman getting killed by the brute by a simple smash down to the ground - he is a human after all fighting a Kryptonion.

They don't interact, BUT it was actually well done cuz Batfleck is wearing the blue and gray costume during the day (instead of all black, like at night) and it looks like it's modeled after Batman: The Animated Series, and so is his motorcycle.

Just got back from the movie, SPOILER for the hidden Batman reveal: 15:05 damn drinker, nice guess lol I actually thought the dynamic of the 2 Barrys were decent. Yes one of them was very annoying, but that's not our timeline's Barry. Our Barry is a whole lot more mature through this movie and the alternate Barry is the annoying one. I also appreciate that our Barry's self-awareness when he sees how frustrating he can be around people when he sees a younger version of himself.
