If the first Rey movie hadn't been a copy of A New Hope, and they hadn't completely deleted anything Skywalker and replaced it with Rey,... maybe it would have been something. Now however it's just bad. Everybody who grew up with Star Wars (and that includes the prequals) is, at best, meh about her. As for me, I never saw the final movie in 'the trilogy' because I hated what they did to Skywalker (doing Solo in was horrid in itself, but they doubled down in their 'murder the old' agenda). My daughter (10) is growing up with old Star Wars and already knows that Rey is shit. New Star Wars doesn't exist. The last good entry was the first drop of SWTOR online.

As long as they keep holding on to the Didney Wars continuity, things are going to continue to fail. They need to declare everything they've made so far non-canon and return to Legends Canon, just as most fans have. I really think they have one single way to move forward. To disown everything they've done, dust off Luca's scripts, get a new cast, and shoot those scripts. Disney turned the biggest franchise in history into an albatross and if they skip it will be harder to get any fan investment than a new franchise that doesn't have the Woke DEI Disney bad faith that has killed their spin on Star Wars.

yes, Rey needs to finally run out of all her amazing luck and finally has to pay for all of the no-struggle golden pacifier life she has led. They might make Rey's 'involvement' in the sequel trilogy similar to Luke's 'involvement' in TFA. The word 'involvement' being used loosely. If they killed her off the standalone movie, it could cause a chain of events in Eps 10,11 & 12. Or (the thought occurred while typing) have the standalone movie and ep10 covering the same time period from different parts of the galaxy and the stories converge at the end leading to 11. The two movies could finish with exactly the same events/scene but from the respective movie protagonist POV, a bit like the opening/closing scenes of Pulp Fiction. The latter option might be interesting.

Hm, how to fix Star Wars without decanonizing? But why? Disney screwed itself over with decanonizing the EU first, so it would only be fair to decanonize the Disney Wars Universe too. How did Kylo put it? "Burn the past" or something, yeah we should burn Disney Star Wars. Like Otoy did for Star Trek, maybe a movie to actively recton the drek which has been the Sequel Trilogy could be explained as a fever dream of Luke where he wakes up in the end of the movie next to Mara Jade and we get a glimpse of Luke's Academy which could show a new cast of characters and give the skywalker saga a proper farewell, while keeping the door open for their next generation(s). Then, to go to a different Era would be suitable, not directly to Revan and the old republic as they have to prove themselves first. Maybe something prior to the Old Republic, like the Mandalorian wars which in turn could setup the KOTOR and SWTOR timeline if it'd done properly....so no flawless girlbosses, no forced Didn't Earn It, no stupid decisions just to piss off the fans etc. Also if they do Kotor they should do tandem movies as in one male lightside "canon" version and one female dark side one, as the movies could use a lot of sets (CGI?) with each other it would probably be cheaper to do it like that instead of totally unrelated movies. But yeah the first step Dosney should do is to hire new and most importantly qualified writers in the first place so it's not Drek being produced like the sequel saga....and for God's sake keep Ruin Johnson away from Star Wars, though to be fair the same should be said about Kathleen Kennedy too.
