Fun episode! I haven’t heard of the original but I live close to manhattan so I’ll have to go check it out and maybe do a review there to see how it compares to the one you guys visited. I’m not a huge fan of blue cheese though so we’ll have to see what they have there!

Yeah, I don't know anything about it. I didn't even know there were other branches until we got to there. I'm sure there are plenty of better burger joints in NY though... ;)

You did a great job turning an audio disaster into a perfectly fine video. Well done, I enjoyed watching it. Thank you ♥

Thanks ---I just hope we don't have issues like that again

You salvaged this video just fine with your post-visit narration👍😊

Thanks. I'm not sure what else we could have done. And just hope it doesn't happen again...

Okay, the blue cheese burger looks good. Even though I am allergic to the mold, that looks worth getting ill to try like a gorgonzola covered steak.
@CriticalEatsJapan8 ай бұрын
Yes! It did look really good ---I just wish it had been a little stronger. But for you, maybe that's a good thing ;)

Same with me, I have to make sure that any supper market I go to doesn't slice Blue Cheese, if they do, I have to get them to clean the slicer.

Hi Paul and Aaron! Always great to see another Burger Brothers video with you two. "Bubbe" means grandmother in Yiddish. Even though it's been changed to "Bubby's," I suspect that's the reason for the restaurant's name. What a shame the hamburgers weren't better! They looked good. The pancakes looked stellar, so maybe it's a better place for breakfast meals. I hope you'll have more luck at the next burger place you try. Best wishes from California!

Interesting. I kept thinking it was somehow related to someone called Bubba, but what you say makes more sense. ;)

I knew as soon as I saw that cross-section that it wasn't going to get the top spot. The meat was not ground enough for my liking. I imagine the one in NY is quite different. On the other hand, those pancakes looked yummy!

Yeah it was a little bit on the crumbly side... :(

Blue Cheese is good on burger's. Here's a trick to getting it to stick - Blue cheese on top of the patty, then melt either Swiss or Provolone to glue it on the burger. Also, is great with mushrooms.
@CriticalEatsJapan8 ай бұрын
Nice. Tuck it in with a blanket of cheese👍

Years ago I made a great black and blue burger (black truffle oil and blue cheese) so I would have tried the Blue Cheese burger too. Even though it's 11pm, those burgers are making me hungry. I'd have Aaron's fries too.
@CriticalEatsJapan8 ай бұрын
Yes, we definitely wanted to try something new. And Aaron's fries was the good choice for sure.

By the way, we have Shaka Shack in Canada now. Haven't tried them yet. Flavors are churro and masala

Oh yeah, I watched another channel that reviewed them. Interesting flavours we've never had here👍

Good video! Also, the restaurant looks nice. Smash burgers not a thing there so much?
@CriticalEatsJapan8 ай бұрын
No, not really any smash burgers here :(

I'm sorry about your audio difficulties, but you did a great job making the best of it. There's a Bar & Grill in one of the small towns closest to my house that makes an amazing Blue Cheese & Bacon Burger - it's by far my favorite burger not only there, but anywhere I've been so far. They have excellent fries and an extensive menu full of tasty choices. Those were some thick burger patties. If you find a bacon & blue cheese burger, I highly recommend it - it's a great combination.
@CriticalEatsJapan7 ай бұрын
Sounds great! I do wonder how similar the burgers were here compared to what they might serve in NY. Bacon and blue cheese? We'll have to see how the votes go ;)
@ChrisJohnsonCJs-Kitchen7 ай бұрын
Bacon & Blue cheese is a pretty popular burger here in the Pacific Northwest. It's usually Bleu Cheese crumbles, rather than sauce. I think it was pretty close otherwise.

Burgers had the look of something truly amazing, it’s a shame it didn’t live up to the expectation. Although the meat patty was “loose” at least it was well cooked. I agree with Aaron that a barrier between the sauce and the bun is needed and the toasted thing too. I think you guys made a good choice with the reaction to save the episode.

Thanks, and right ---I do like it well cooked ;)

Great review vid. Good workaround save for audio difficulties. I usually prefer fries, too. I'm wondering if more seasoning (salt & pepper) & more char from grilling on the patties would have helped the flavors of both burgers?
@CriticalEatsJapan8 ай бұрын
Yeah, fries is the way to go. I regretted getting the slaw but just wanted to show something different. I think both your ideas would have really helped though ;)

so weird, the 3rd page of the menu had 2 photos of different burgers and the only difference I could tell was the text and the 2nd/lower one had an extra layer of lettuce. Menu Fail! otherwise that place looked bomb if you're willing to pay. but don't order a meatball burger, get pulled pork or something else.
@CriticalEatsJapan7 ай бұрын
That extra line of lettuce was actually a row of avocado slices. It just didn't come across well on camera, especially at the speed we looked through that menu
