I think the next song you should check out is "Up My Sleeves" which is the intro track off of NOTM. It's a lot darker and more experimental than pretty much all of their other albums, very cryptic lyrics. Also they got Björk in the studio to record voice samples for them that they weave throughout every inch of every song. Truly a masterpiece.

Man, Niggas on the Moon is such an amazing album and Up My Sleeves is a stellar opener! Brian should do an entire album reaction for that one if you ask me, but maybe he'll get a migraine, cry and be very noided at some point. I think it's my favourite of them, with Steroids as a close second, that one is such an intense experience too. But most of their work is top tier for my taste. I'm one of those rare people that really enjoys the entirety of Government Plates for example. I guess I like my Death Grips equal amounts aggressive and trippy. Whatever I Want might make for a nice reaction as well.

I would rescind all reaction requests if it meant we could have a full album reaction to Death Grips. No matter what I still love this channel ❤

It's literally a meshuggah riff on a synth, makes sense considering Zach Hill's background

And from what few songs I've really drank up so far, this one is my favourite. The rhythm is unpredictable, rash and aggressive in just the right way. The lyrics are gloriously unhinged and his vocal delivery gives off crackhead vibes. I lack the lingual prowess to adequately convey what his style does to my brain. Again, it just works. In the best of ways. Even though Death Grips have been on my radar since 2012-ish, I just never listened to their music until recently. I missed out. This group is great. I'm looking forward to their show in Berlin Germany this June. Keep up the good work Bryan. Your content is much appreciated. Greetings from across the big pond. :)

I'd wager that the panning is to disorient and nauseate, honestly. Putting you in that same *"Fight or Flight"* mode that Ride must be feeling in this song. 🤘 Stay noided friend. Great vid as usual!

Based on the criteria for the selection...I 1000% agree with this choice. I think it is one of the best portrayals of paranoia I heard.

of all their songs i relate to this one the most and scream the lyrics when i can...i kinda figure you have to be a burned out lunatic like them and myself to truly get and enjoy this kind of music also, that album cover (you obviously have the censored one pictured) has to be the most narcisstic/insane of all time

Death grips is definitely one of the weirder bands that I listen to on a daily basis. Good to see someone visiting their music! You don't hear about them much.

Conceptually I would say this is one of the more straight forward and easy to dissect Death Grips songs. Really hope you get to some more of their stuff soon, as they definitely can get crazier and more interesting, production and writing-wise. I’d recommend Hacker or Blackjack from TMS, Up My Sleeves from NOTM, or No Love from NLDW. Great analysis!

Honestly yeah I agree that for you, small doses is probably the best way to experience them. I enjoy this sort of chaotic energy so I don't mind but I mean they never really chill out at any point. So it can get to be too much.

Interesting track. If I ever get into hip-hop it will probably be stuff like this where there's interesting rhythms both in the music and vocals that play interestingly against each other. It's still a bit too repetitive for me, but it's short enough so that it doesn't become annoying, and the performance kept my attention too.

you might already know but each of their albums has a very different style to it, if you want more chaotic i'd personally recommend their first album (exmilitary), bottomless pit, or year of the snitch.

As someone who absolutely loves like 50% of what Death Grips does, it get what you are feeling. This one bounces off me too. I suggest anything off of the albums: The Money Store, Jenny Death, and Bottomless Pit. The later two being more punk than anything and Money Store being a more "classic" hip hop album (at least as far as Death Grips goes)

Try NOTM. It's probably one of the most divisive DG albums, but the opening track (Up My Sleeves) completely fried my brain upon first listen.

@@kasane1337 haha man, hard disagree on suggesting NOTM if they are not into this track. The Bjork samples, while wild, intriguing, and interesting, are next to unlistenable IMO. There are a handful of tracks that rise above and still make it into my playlist.
